    Probably an 8/10

I think this might be the album that properly got me into Future. This album was the end of an incredible streak of projects from Monster, Beast Mode, 56 Nights to this. I might have DS2 as the weakest of the 4 but I still regard it a great album. Thought it was a Drought was a classic song and looking back at the other songs of the tracklist reminds me of the good times I had listening to this album. He really killed 2015 with this sound. Feel like he's struggling to fit in with this newer generation now.

So, I remember people were calling this awesome back then. I listened to it. Kinda get bored. A year later or 2 I can't remember, I got into a discussion about this again and decided to check this s--- out if my taste has changed or maybe I missed SMH the last time I listened to this. And it had great beats but instead of 18 tracks I felt like I listened to 4 5 tracks in repeat. They sounded so alike. I have listened pain using autotune so the way future sounded wasn't really impressive to me. I don't really get the love for this. Not gonna act like I remember too much of this album but I don't think it was lyrically impressive neither. I love to hear words rhyme with some different flows, that's what I like the most about rap but I can't say I enjoyed flows on that one... So what we have here is an average album to me...

    3/10?! ^^^^ tf
Might get backlash for this but I put this album up there next to GRODT in terms of having no skippable tracks imo. This album is truly the very best of Future and he hasn't matched this since coincidentally similar to 50 with GRODT I guess. This is a modern day classic in terms of production and where Hip Hop is at the moment. You can slap this in the whip, club or even alone at home by yourself.

Well, I don't think it has a thing common with GRODT or any classic album at all. I don't think Future is any good.

Sorry but that's it. I'm not gonna act like it was good when I don't even play or like a single song on that. For real tho most of the songs sounded the same and nothing impressed me with that album. Production was good but even that was boring because the beats were too similar for many songs... And I love trap beats.

h--- yeah this album f---ing knocks, haven't heard this in full in quite some time and it brought back wonderful memories of late summer 15'. Like my brudda @Sav Stanfield perfectly Illustrated, the road to DS2 was a sight to behold; Future was this unstoppable maelstrom of heart-broken emotion and a whole lotta lean, he dropped 3 classic tapes in a row! DS2 was the victory lap before his Drake-collabs certified him as a bonafide rap star.

The sequencing is fantastic and Future was dripping like crazy over this s---, it dovetails wonderfully with some of the most narcotic production this decade has seen (Metro!), listening to this turns your room into Magic City. While DS2 is not as cohesive as BM, just short of the earth-shattering energy of 56 Nights and the emotional turmoil of Monster was turned down just a tad bit, this was certainly his most well-rounded effort and really how do you explain someone dropping 4 elite projects in a row? What a run that was.

    DS2 = 9.5

DS2 is easily, without a doubt, my favorite rap album since MBDTF. I also think it is probably the most influential rap album in the past 5 or so years, far more so than TPAB in terms of its impact on the sound of new popular artists and recently established ones. Its a classic in my opinion and still sounds just as good. Plenty of lines, verses, hooks and beats that will get stuck in your head. Not one song sounds out of place either.

But, I can see this album not appealing to non americans and 3rd worlders, as future is accented as f--- and full of lingo.

i do not know if this is his best album, but I think this one has the best production. every track is a b-----r and I mean every track really, really slaps. It has the gucci flip flops line. it has everything. I love every part of it. This is the magnum opus of trap and entertainment music. 9.9/10

surely we can all agree DS2 is a top 5 most important project of the decade, right? even if you dont like it, you can't deny its importance.

I hate how Monster isn't considered an album because it gets left out of all these discussions

Its his best project by miles. I mean DS2 was great too, but feels like it was made more for the fans, kinda to capitlise on his hype at the time, give everyone what they wanted. Monster was just plain raw, made for no one but Fewtch himself.

6.5/10. Huge album like y'all already said (It pratically created a new standard for solid trap albums in the recent years), but I must say I find the album overrated because of it. This was Future as an icon creating the album we kinda expected, but it was clearly not Future at his most creative.
Monster is rawer, darker, lonelier, more honest (no pun intended) and just hits harder in pretty much every aspect imo.

    (sorry for the weak blurb)
(I might go back and rate some of the earlier albums I missed Sav! keep the thread going, it's really cool to read y'all)

I'm not the raphead you are obviously, but I'll try to argue against you here ; when DS2 dropped we already had Finally Rich, Barter 6, Rich g--- Tha Tour, Days Before Rodeo, Monster and all these Thugger leaks - DS2 was a phenomenon, but I don't think it created a new atmosphere/a new sound in the hip-hop landscape... or did it?
