What popular albums do you feel were unfairly dismissed? The two biggest albums of the year were middling, bloated LP's from Post Malone and Drake. Kanye released his worst album. Queen was a flop. What's missing? J. Cole and Eminem? lmao. You could make an argument for The Carter V and Kids See Ghosts (both of which I would've lobbied for if I was part of the Pitchfork staff) but it's not as if either of those were universally lauded.

This idea that music criticism as a whole tends to be biased against what's popular is wildly overblown and tends to be demonstrably untrue more often than not.

Y'all say this like the big name artists really delivered this year lmao

Yeah man , Carter V Scorpion and Kamikaze really all time classics, crazy the popular artists didn't make the list :lmaooo:

Don't even get me started on that Ye dud and the Cole snooze fest

I haven't heard all of this new s---, mainly because I haven't had time, but it should be no surprise the last generation artists are failing to deliver anymore so not sure why everyone is upset that this list doesn't have that s--- on it

Didnt listen to ice cube's album. Didn't say those albums are the only ones should have made it to this list. But let's be real. How many people really knows about those guys in the list? I don't think anybody outside of US does. And my point was legit there.

I'm an average listener. I'm not gonna listen unheard US rappers just like that I don't have time for it. I have my own country's rappers already and I don't even listen to most of them neither. Seriously how many listeners half of those guys who made to the list have? I wonder... I also wonder who made this list. I mean how can he say an album listened and received good just by 1000 fans of the artist is better than an album listened and received mixed by millions of People ? Do you really think any of those albums would be called great by everybody if the number of listeners were huge like Carter 5's ? I don't think so.
