You guys had a great game, the high press was killing us in the early stages as we had no idea how to play out of it (passing options being man-marked, defensive overloads to ball receiver in wide positions). Obviously it's impossible to maintain that intensity and we managed to take the chances we had, the VAR goal was very close and there's a lot of positive Ajax can take out of the game.

@Alpha ive been surprised at our uptick in form, it's been a huge mentality boost that's made the difference as well as some fresh young legs that have brought a different energy to the team; obviously Vini is a gem and Reguilon has been very solid. The 2 Clasicos and the Ajax @ home will be season defining!

@Fire Squad thoughts on this week's matches?

As a Real Madrid supporter, I was pleased to see Atleti beat Juventus, a hard earned victory. We all know how the match will go in Italy. Atleti closing the defense and playing on counter attacks.

Imagine the scenes as RM qualify while Ronaldo & Juventus are out. Satisfying. lol.

I've seen a post last night after the match that says that it's in Real Madrid's DNA to show up for Champions League. It's in the teams Genes.
Juventus don't have a Ramos, Modric, Kroos, Casemiro or Dani Carvajal.

Haha I'm always a bit conflicted to see Atletico win anything even though it's #FuckJuve too. It's a shame the tax issues and feud with Perez drove him out, that Juve midfield is a far cry to what we have; no one besides Dybala or Pjanic knows how to make a single line-breaking pass and worst of all their most creative player, Joao Cancelo, was left on the bench! Made Atletico's job of stuffing passing lanes that much easier, anyone even recall Juve's front 3 making any form of combination?

We gotta handle business vs Ajax and let's see what happens from then on. I may have mentioned it before but this season's' UCL will be defined by match-ups more so than squad quality, unfortunately we don't have a coach that reads the game well so I'm being skeptically grounded, nonetheless the next round is gonna be brutal.

Sancho would be a great signing for Man United for the wide right position. Next season he Ole should go 4-2-3-1 Sancho wide right, Martial wide left, Lingard number 10, Rashford up top or basically even 4-3-3 cos Lingard can play as a CM in a 3 man CM

Dalot needs to be the first choice RB right now he can make the RB position his own for the next 15 years his crossing is incredible with either foot he's like a winger that can defend or a full back that can attack but not just attack on the over lap this guy can actually dribble like a winger

Liverpool would be our hardest matchup, Barca & Atleti for sure because of familiarity but LFC the hardest one because of their offense/intensity. I'm still torn over City, love their squad but Pep isn't that hard to figure out in UCL or he tends to s---t himself in the foot. PSG at full strength (Neymar) is very difficult this year, I think they might pull a run depending on who they get. Gotta beat Ajax & @Michael Myers first tho

I'd throw whatever contract at Hudson-Odoi and pray Hazard decides to stay, I feel for you guys since we got hit by it not that long ago.

The positive is there is a great team that's going through a rough patch, some are somewhat incompatible with what Sarri demands, then again he needs to be more pragmatic too--it's been his downfall so far. We'll see what happens in this Cup Final, you never know!

This is one of the more frustrating results since we should have buried this game before they had the chance of getting one in (And Suarez doesn't forgive as usual). Granted when MATS has games like that idk what anyone can do to score...We gotta pick ourselves up and get some redemption this weekend. Our bench is ice cold and Solari should have gotten them more prepared, I miss Isco.

Vinicius is a superstar in the making, his power, vision and skill might reach the levels of Kaka before the injury--he was practically our entire offense today and torched Semedo. Granted he's still a few shooting lessons away from getting to that pantheon, but him and Regui got something going down that left side. I hate losing to them but I saw some positives nonetheless, hope we send @Michael Myers and his Ajax out next week!
