Wtf the pirates really aren’t considering Machado when they could easily pay the guy what he wants? Last year was the first year me and a group of people didn’t go to their season opener to support them. And not going to this year either. I’m tired of them being cheap a----s. Go get a f---ing batter already. They already potentially have a playoff bound pitching rotation. They just could use a solid power hitter and they’d be competing for number one in their division with someone like Machado I believe.

I'm at the point now where I dont give a f--- where either goes. I'm sick of the d--- circus. Phillies need to just come out and say "alright, we're done with the bs" and throw out a final offer and be done with it. if neither sign f--- it, next offseason is loaded again and the following we'll have a shot at Trout.

I truly thought Manny would be a Yank by now but then they signed Tulowitzski. I don't think Manny wants to play third honestly, I mean the dude is a natural short so it makes sense. Once we traded for Segura I pretty much figured we would be out of the Manny sweepstakes by now. Harper gonna resign with Washington lol.

This s--- is getting annoying as f---. Both are stretching it out to the max. It looks like we went full in on Machado and he's just f---ing around trying to get the most money he can possibly get, and that means holding out until the last minute. I think we're realizing that, and we're finally gonna have a meeting with Harper on Saturday. It looks like teams aren't as interested in Harper as he thought they would be. The two biggest spenders this off-season, us and the Yankees, haven't even spoken to him and it looks like NY won't even bother at all. At this point I think we're gonna over spend to ensure we get one of them because that's what ownership wants. In a perfect world, we just save the money and get Trout when he's available. I'm just tired of the Phils being a---. Even when they've been contending until July-August, it was all just smoke an mirrors, and we all knew it would fall apart. If Arrieta doesn't blow and we get one of these guys I think we're finally gonna be back playing October ball.

Definitely Harper. Longer career ahead and isn't going to turn to a lazy piece of s---...BUT money wise you'd have to go Machado. Harper is asking way too much

See, as big of a lazy POS Machado is, I still think he's the better player. Obviously for St. Louis, Machado would make more sense. I agree that Harper is asking for way too much. Should've played better last season. Boras gonna get his though.

Pirates beat Redsox 8-1. Redsox pretty much played all their starters at first until it was a blowout so this was basically a real game and shows the pirates should be the real deal this year.

Ken Griffey Jr. was the face of baseball in Seattle. I think a lot of it is on trout too. Granted, he loves it. I’m just surprised he didn’t hit the open market. Coulda potentially gotten half a billion.

Cardinals locked up Goldy for 5 additional years

Pretty cheap deal considering talks with the D-Backs reportedly stalled at $200 mil. He's the perfect fit for St. Louis. Copped a jersey the day it was announced.

Anyone here do fantasy baseball? I've done it for like 5 years now. It's easily my favorite one to play.

I have a fantasy football draft Sunday at 8 actually. I won the latest fantasy football draft. But baseball, I lost the last 3 years and didn’t make the playoffs. I feel I’m more prepared this year after getting some experience the other couple years. I don’t enjoy it as much as the nfl fantasy. The mlb season is a lot longer and I always seem to get one of my top pitchers being injured. The key this year some undrafted player that blows up to make sure I get him off waivers the first week or 2. Some of the older guys in the league really know baseball and get steals off waivers.

You know the pirates have a good chance of beating cardinals in their division this year right? Cardinals have a few better hitters, but I think pirates are stronger in several areas.

I think people are down on the Pirates this year, and I understand why considering how much better the division will be. (hard to believe) If someone forced me to bet, I'd put money on the Pirates finishing last in the Central, but baseball is so hard to predict. There's at least 2-3 teams each season that exceed expectations, but I don't think Pittsburgh is gonna be one of them. They need a big bounce back year from Archer.

Yeah I try my best to convince myself the pirates can somehow make at least the wild card. But yeah the Owner just cares about the money. We used to go to every home opener but after getting rid of people who had potential for nothing we stopped going starting last year. The overall attendance was down big last year and may get worse this year. That’s the only way the franchise will change. People need to quit going. Ik Machado (using him as an example) may have been overpaid, but the pirates not paying anyone a huge contract they could have easily went after him with a big contract. Just worries me when it’s looking like Kang is our power hitter.

And my fantasy draft last night I think I did fairly well. Your honest opinion what do you think of my starting lineup? Got the 2nd pick and went with mookie betts. Corey Kluber next pick since the top pitchers get drafted around then. Aaron Judge with my next. Odor at 2nd base. Rendon at 3rd base. Miguel Cabrera at 1st (which I’m a little worried with him but took another guy later who plays 1st too)
