Jul 31, 2019 Movie was phenomenal Inglourious Basterds Pulp Fiction Once Upon a Time in Hollywood Reservoir Dogs Django Unchained k--- Bill Death Proof The Hateful Eight Even though he’s my favorite director I’m still yet to see Jackie Brown but just ordered it
Jul 31, 2019 Lots are saying there’s no plot or any purpose for the first two acts but I actually thought it was refreshing to not have the plot forced down my throat like most movies out of Hollywood today. The story was about Rick and his career that’s in need of a jumpstart which is prevalent throughout the film including the end when he becomes friends with Sharon a rising Hollywood star who happens to be married to the most sought after director at the time.
Aug 7, 2019 hopefully you'll like it. i think jackie brown has one of his very best characters: ordell. he's my favorite director too. obviously i think he's a very talented film maker, but what i like most about quentin is that he's passionate about film. i love when people are passionate about something. you probably know this but before he was rich and famous, he worked in a video store and he said it was his dream job up UNTIL he became a director. now a video store worker probably isn't making a lot of money--but yet he loved working there because he was surrounded by his passion. money is great and all, but people don't usually pick careers based on money, they pick it because its something their interested in. and that's why i love quentin. when i see someone who's passionate, my goes out to them.
Aug 14, 2019 I never knew the real story to this, it made the movie so much better (it was already great) If you havent seen this yet read up on Sharon Tate
Aug 14, 2019 Yeah I went with some friends and half of them knew it and half didn’t. The half that didn’t hated the movie while the rest of us loved it
Aug 18, 2019 Watched it in London last night. I don't know man.......QT stay doing QT. He reminds me of Eminem, always trying to relive the past success and not moving forward artistically. I feel like since Inglourious Basterds he has basically made the same film. No N-Word in this but does paint Asians in a bad light. Tarantino likes to mention Paul Thomas Anderson as his closest friendly competitor in the movie business (in past interviews) but he sorta shoots himself in the foot by making that comparison. PTA is a guy who doesn't make the same film twice and he grows artistically with every film. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is actually a poor man's Inherent Vice. I'd give OUATIH 7/10
Aug 18, 2019 I heard from a friend of mine that saw it last night that the movie was s--- and like 2/3 of the audience in the cinema walked away by the end of it.
Aug 18, 2019 this is nothing like Inherent Vice......and it’s also better than Inherent Vice this is coming from a shameless PTA stan btw
Aug 18, 2019 Haven’t watched this on yet but will soon....True Romance is a favourite Tarantino written film...
Aug 18, 2019 People don't realise the genius of Inherent Vice. Could easily be top 3 by Anderson. You gotta admit QT has become repetitive. It's so blatant. He is ruining his legacy and exposing himself to being one dimensional.
