I don't think 50 had a long enough reign to be in the top 10. Top 25 yeah. There's a lot of artists I'd put in the top 10 above 50.

You could put Nas in the top 10 and I wouldn't be mad but I think he's in the top 20 range.

Dre is a tough one because he's most iconic as a producer. He has a great voice for rap, three good-to-classic albums and I don't give a s--- that most of his stuff is ghostwritten, but it's hard for me to put him on a top ten rapper list for some reason.

Future is probably the most influential artist of the 2010s and he's been dropping projects in contention for not only his best project but for rap album of the year pretty much every year since 2011. He's been around for almost a decade now. People don't bat an eye at kendrick being in a top 10 list when they've been around for the same amount of time.

I think beyond Jay/Big/Pac/Wayne being undeniable there's a LOT of good choices for the rest of a top 10 list.

    this is a bold statement.

you realize that Future gets mentioned very frequently when the discussion of overrated rappers comes up. in that thread titled "Answer these for the f--- of it"... Future was probably the most mentioned rapper in the Rapper I think is overrated category lol

Probably not just because Life is Good exists
future being the most influential rap artist of the 2010s isn't a bold statement at all. He's an extremely obvious and routine pick. The only other artists I can think of are keef and migos—and maybe young thug as a sleeper pick.

I'm not saying every single year he put our rap album of the year, but I am saying I wouldn't bat an eye a anyone saying any of these were the best rap album of the year even if I don't necessarily agree:
    2012: pluto
    2014: monster
    2015: 56 Nights, Beast Mode, DS2
    2017: Hendrix
    2019: The Wizrd

Also one random thread on this forum that skews toward Eminem fans is horrible anecdotal evidence lol

its not just one thread though. Future gets mentioned all the time on here as far as overrated rappers and there's plenty of people who don't think he's anything special. i know you are aware of this because you post heavily about hip hop music and its very obvious that Futures name gets mentioned a lot.

not only that, but in that thread i was referring to, you quoted some members post and you posted "lmao" because you were upset by his choices lolol :'(

Life is Good is great. Just like Nas, to me Eminem had one great album in 15 years (Kamikaze) but its not touching LIG.

I'm a huge fan of future btw but Migos, literallly the most boring as f--- rappers I ever heard tbh.

d--- I gotta go with @TimmyT on this one. What a about Kendrick being the most influential rapper of the 2010’s?

It’s crazy sometimes how people’s perceptions are different from where they live and where they get their music. I would say Future is one of the most influential (and not in a good way imo) but not THE most influential. I get where you’re coming from and you’re not wrong. I feel like Kendrick is a great example of someone who greatly influenced the rap game in the 2010’s.

Sidenote. As an example I know almost no one that listens to Future on the regular and highly anticipates his albums. But obviously somewhere out there he has a MASSIVE fan base. I mean when Kendrick drops an album it’s like a f---ing celebration for most people though.

the guy you quoted in that Answer these for the f--- of it thread listed Future and Kanye as his most overrated rappers. You love Future and Kanye and you think highly of them. He also listed Eminem as the GOAT and his favorite rapper of all time and that upset you. Classic Big Country!

this is what I mean about Future:

    No order
    Jay z
    Nas
    Redman
    Jcole
    Kanye
    Eminem
    Andre
    Methodman
    2pac
    Roc Marciano

Nas would for sure be my number 1 tho. He’s my favorite, as well as my goat.

when I said it’s a bold statement, I was mostly referring to Big Country saying Future has released all these so called great albums in the 2010s—but here you go

    Drake
    Kendrick Lamar
    J. Cole
    Post Malone
    Danny Brown

The lmao was mostly at listening, like, D12 as his fav groups lol. You know I love Kanye, but on the internet at least he IS overrated by many (myself included at times).

Classic Timmy T thinking dissent = being upset. Criminalc posts bring my life joy

Kendrick is one of the greatest rappers to come up in the 2010s, but I don’t think his influence compares to future’s. What/who has Kendrick really influenced aside from maybe other TDE members?
