I’m old. I was in high school when the Eminem just don’t give a f--- single cd came out.

My friend came home with the single after being locked up at juvie. I had never heard of Eminem before that but we smoked blunts and listened to that single non stop. None of us could wait for SSLP to come out.

23 and I discovered Em through Cleaning Out My Closet (was on some music channel on TV) when I was around 9 or 10 years old. (Life before the internet)

Both are undeniably classics among the GOAT Hip Hop Albums. I'll have to go with TES, a masterpiece.

MMLP was Eminem at his absolute best. MMLP is such an emotional rollercoaster. TES has a lot of songs that sound similair and has many fillers.

    MMLP.

He still has that SSLP rhyming ability but now with the anger and vitriol of being labeled a pop star. As an underground battle rapper, the last thing he wanted to be was the next vanilla ice. So he gave everything he had to lashing out against this label. He had no filter and attacked anyone and everyone he could think of all while trying to defend himself. MMLP is the perfect blend of what made prime Eminem so special.

TES is a more mature album and might be the better album overall, but MMLP will always be my favorite.

Remember, this was still pre-internet. At least, the internet wasn’t anywhere close to what it is today. People still watched tv for music videos. And people read magazines. Em was everywhere during the MMLP album cycle. He completely took over MTV and BET, it seemed like no matter when you put those channels on, he was on tv, he singlehandledly shut down Times Square in New York for his appearance on TRL, he was on the cover of every music publication and all the tabloids and s--- and these magazines were sold at the cash registers in so many stores like convenience, grocery, gas stations, pharmacies, and s--- like that. His face was literally everywhere for a good chunk of 2000. Even the government and protesters were saying Eminem is gonna destroy the children. Nothing will ever top MMLP Eminem.
