Sep 12, 2019 Goddammit lol f---ing s--- the next three weeks are going to insane for wrestling. Next week- Clash of Champions and the first 2 hour live NXT (though for some reason only the first hour is on USA and the second hour is still on the Network until the head to head with AEW starts). Oct 2- AEW STARTS and thus the Wednesday Night Wars do too Oct 4- Smackdown Live on Fox starts (which I'll be there for)
Sep 12, 2019 The first two weeks of AEW being split is because of the two week series finale of Suits, apparently one of USA's most popular shows (I don't have cable and when I did I never watched anything on USA except for Raw lol) I saw that 205 Live is basically morphing in with NXT since Smackdown is moving to Fridays. Surprised it didn't happen sooner tbh, but I guess it makes the most sense now with it being 2 hours.
Sep 12, 2019 Ah ok yeah it makes sense...Suits is the only USA show I've even heard of lol They should just merge 205 and NXT. 205 live honestly has the best workers in the company and even with them having their own show they don't get to fully show what they can do. What is everyone's predictions for AEW's ratings week 1 on TNT? @NJPWBros (btw we still really a AEWbros tag lol) I've heard of guesses every where from 600k-3M lol If I were to guess I'd say 2M, which is high, but with Raw doing 2.2M this week I figure 2/3 of the people that watch WWE every week will be curious enough to check out their first show, then another 1/3 will be lapsed fans coming back to see if a new product catches their attention.
Sep 15, 2019 I'm predicting 700k-1.3m. You have a base of a few hundred thousand, the stragglers who'll check it out because it's on TNT, and whatever lapsed or WWE fans decide to check it out. I'm much more conservative than you on how many current fans will watch. I think there are far more people who've fallen off over the years than there are fans who are willing to check something new out. WWE is a cult of old people, nerds, and families who have no clue. However many 12-25 year old fans they have will probably check it out though.
Sep 25, 2019 Although I'm usually not a fan of "comedy Kenny" and much prefer the more serious Cleaner Kenny, this s--- made me lol I can't say I agree starting out with Kenny being in the middle of breakdown when you're introducing him, and the rest of the company, to a brand new audience. New viewers will be very confused lol
Oct 1, 2019 It just occured to me that I never watched last years BOLA, so I think I"m going to do that today
Oct 1, 2019 The intro special they did tonight was the best they've done at introducing everyone to a fresh audience...idk how many people watched it...but it did a great job of telling the story starting with All In.
Oct 2, 2019 Great first show. Women's match was really good, opener was so well structured, and that main event was like an old Smackdown show from my youth. Love the commentary and presentation. So well produced and directed, and should only get better. Cutler/MJF was just kinda there, but a good intro for MJF. Only real negative - which doesn't really mean anything - was Britt Baker on commetary. This is going to work.
Oct 2, 2019 Loved it. Most of my issues with the show were production related (timing of commercial breaks, etc) but those will get worked out in time. Could've done without that Angelico and Jack Evans vs Jay and Silent Bob segment though
