...but nick is just like a drake right? like just an already rich from acting kid that thought "I can be a rapper too...even got the money for the studio sessions...and the producers...and the writers...and the anything I need to give the impression im a real rapper"...right?...like remember when steve-o was rapping just cuz he could?...thats how much respect nick deserves as an MC, drugged up steve-o respect...I cant exactly remember lord jamars recipe for rap but for sure nick cannons missing a few ingredients. He can do like a show in vegas performing rap for people who would otherwise not check it out, you know? HAMILTON...ok so like we wouldnt call Lin Manuel Maranda a "rapper" would we? but he raps...nick can go do something like that...he can rap, act, and even do his s-----y stand up in an off broadway mediocre play no one ever has to see...there...I figured out nick cannons purpose in entertainment before he did...but yeah he aint a "rapper" I wouldnt say...

lol no no, not ability. When you're already famous for acting or whatever, then you start rapping, it seems like it's just your side hobby, and you get a lot of breaks that real rappers dont cuz you're already famous...kevin smith aint a real stand up, nick cannon aint a real rapper - ps, ive been drinking, might not be explaining well

Agreed, but even Benzino, Everlast, etc. had more talent as rappers than Nick Cannon. I’d love to hear the Eminem Nick Cannon diss track, but I don’t think it’s coming. I suspect he’ll continue to throw barbs at him in perpetuity, without ever giving him the satisfaction of a truly dedicated diss track*.

Regardless, I think that Eminem would shred most rappers in the industry in a battle. He’s largely lost the ability to craft songs, but he’s still pretty sharp as a battle rapper. I don’t really see any major rapper coming out of a battle with him without sustaining substantial career damage. Like it or not, Eminem still wields a disproportionate amount of power in the industry. I don’t think any modern rapper holds more power than him — not even Drake with his superior numbers could effectively repel the scathing Pusha T diss or shut down Pusha’s career. Eminem is a whole other matter. Notice that no mainstream rapper who is even close to his skill level (eg, Cole, Kendrick, Pusha, etc.) dares to utter a negative word about him. This has been the same for years, dating back to Jay-Z and Nas in their respective primes.

Quite simply, Eminem is still the most dangerous rapper in the industry. We’re all disappointed by the D'Elia-esque lyrics and yearn for the ‘02-‘03 delivery, but this dude still basically holds the industry by the balls.

*In contrast, Game recently stated that MGK won the beef — I know Eminem has hated him dating back to the Game/G-Unit split and would love to see them go at each other.
