Dec 31, 2019 My Krazy Life by YG gets an 8.5/10 from 12 ratings Album 3: Kendrick Lamar - To p---- A Butterfly Sure TPAB isn't exactly what you want to hear in the club. At times its almost too dense. But in 2015, amidst the all the self-centred booming bass and syrupy autotuned trap, the soul, hip hop, jazz and funk and tremendously complicated poetry and social commentary of TPAB stuck out like a dead president on the White House lawn. There's George Clinton and Kamasi Washington and Pharrell and Snoop and Dre and 2PAC. And in the midst of it all, like a beating heart is Kendrick Lamar, the good kid from the mAAd city who channels Lil Wayne and Andre 3000 into a furious whirlwind of dense and terrifying and heartwarming music that will be rightly remembered as one of the greatest hip hop albums, not only of the decade but of all time. 10/10 from me. @RateThisAlbum
Dec 31, 2019 TBAP isn't exactly what I wanna hear in the club but I sure as h--- would love to hear songs like These Walls in clubs. I might not say it's the best Kendrick album but Kendrick doesn't have an album that is not great anyway. Personally, I might prefer d---. over this one but cannot deny the fact that TPAB was a classic. 9.5/10 from me.
Dec 31, 2019 My least favorite Kendrick album, but that says more about the others. A little overrated imo because its trying a little too hard , which ruins the fun for me. Did have some enjoyable songs w These Walls, How Much A Dollar Cost. Not a huge fan of Jazz but he did a good job using it for this album. 7.5/10
Dec 31, 2019 Besky would call me uncultured for this but TPAB just never clicked with me like that. I absolutely acknowledge the message and how important it is, but it just doesn’t sound that good to me. I listen to Alright occasionally but I have no desire to revisit any other songs. People who’ve never heard an OutKast album call it revolutionary art, I call it Kendrick’s worst project. Mortal Man is cornier than anything that’s ever made it on to a Logic album. 5/10
Dec 31, 2019 Kendricks worst album, among all the critic bait, fake deep storytelling, and jazz melodies you’ll find a concept album that’s so confusing, it took weeks after its release for people to get the gist of it. Talking to a 2Pac interview might be the lowest low of Kendricks career. Replacing the superior version of I with the live version as a cop out to its initial negative reaction was a lame move. Wesleys Theory is the strongest track on the album, and almost seems indicative of Kendrick originally intending to go another direction. Yes there’s plenty of value from to p---- a butterfly, but it’s nowhere near the level of s80, GKMC, uu, or d---. when the outtake album is better than the original, there’s a problem. Kendrick thought too hard on this one, it got too messy. 7/10
Dec 31, 2019 Did he really? Had no idea. Was that as like a songwriter? I only got into him recently so I don't know a lot about him.
Dec 31, 2019 As far as I know he only worked on the Black Panther soundtrack? Not sure he had any involvement in d---.
