    Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)

i love movies and or documentaries on bands/singers/rappers. i thought this was a solid film. not quite as good as rocket-man. i think they could have delved deeper into freddie mercury. but it has a lot of queen's most well-known songs and i enjoyed it for what it was.

    Unstoppable (2010)

this is a predictable film. however, it does a great job of building tension and putting the viewer on the edge of their seat. it also has a great emotional aspect to it. the two guys on the train bond with each other as the movie progresses. this is a very, very good thriller that flies under the radar. highly recommended.

JoJo Rabbit: Caught it a couple of weeks back at one of the last theaters in NYC still playing it, Village East Cinema (a landmark). Taika is a maniac who continues to deliver. Scarlett was great (and she was great in Marriage Story), the kids were cool. Sam Rockwell was funny. 8/10

The Lighthouse: Simple story. Strong Jacob's Ladder and Triangle vibes. Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson knocked it out of the park. 9/10

    The Lighthouse (2019)

this movie is.....different. there's basically only 2 characters throughout the entire film. very dark. not much dialogue. overall i liked it and thought it was pretty good film--especially since it heavily relied on just two people throughout the entire thing. the ending surprised me.

    the equalizer (2014)

denzel is pretty good in this, and i feel the same about some of the other actors. the movie to me is average. nothing really puts it over the top and at times it seems far-fetched. but i still enjoyed the film, especially the ending. but overall, its just OK to me

    spiderman 3 (2007)

this one isn't quite as good as the first two films. there's too much going on. too many bad guys. it feels bloated. but its still an enjoyable film, just not crafted quite as well as the first two films

    Ford vs. Ferrari

i'm not even into racing and i still really enjoyed this movie. its partially about the 24 hours of le mans, but there are other themes in it as well (like fatherhood). i thought this film was put together very well and christian bale reminds us of why he's such a great actor.

Simply the best film of the 2010s. A masterpiece. Also, 2019 can give 1999 a run for its money.

    Beverly Hills Cop

this is a cop movie with a dash of humor. it reminds me of blue streak with martin lawrence. it's a fun movie and eddie murphy does a solid job considering he hasn't done much acting at this point of his career.

    Parasite

it takes a look at two different classes: lower and very upper class families. i like how they build tension throughout the movie--especially the part where the upper class family is headed home and everyone has to scramble to make things appear normal. its' a very good film and i especially liked the ending

    a clockwork orange (1971)

this is a disturbing movie. it also has some out of the ordinary dialogue. i had no idea what several of the words that were repeatedly used throughout the film meant. but some of the words you can figure out once they start using it over and over again. most of the film i understood, but i didn't really get the ending. what's you guys interpretation of the ending?

What I got from the ending is that he wasn't "cured at all" and he was being a bit sarcastic I guess it's left up to us as the audience to think about it a little

    What I last saw:

The Game Changers - 8/10 (great vegan documentary)
    Miss Hokusai - 7/10
    Mary & the Witch's Flower - 9/10
