You guys are in such a bubble lol. Yes, he doesn't appeal to coastal scenesters, etc. But the most important voting blocs, particularly in the states we need to flip, absolutely resonate with his message

Do they? He voted for NAFTA. Rust belt voters won’t put up with that s---. Trump will repeatedly hammer him over the head for being tied to crooked Hillary and other elitists. Trump is notorious for going on the offense and backing his opponents into a corner. Imagine Biden trying to explain his way out of voting for NAFTA and hurting the rust belt. Lol it’d be embarrassing

He also voted for the Iraq war like Hillary. Trump campaigns as a somewhat anti war candidate. He also says he’s going to be tough and bomb countries... But he would definitely call out Biden for voting for the disastrous Iraq War and hammer him with that as well.
It would be 2016 all over again my man

Bernie has donations from every single county in the country. He appeals to the rust belt. Biden absolutely appeals to more affluent Democratic voters on the coasts, just like Hillary did. He’s out of touch with the Democratic base who stand up for leftist policies. Biden is Republican lite. @Papa Alpha Andy

trumps trade wars are much more immediate and deeply felt than a 25 year old vote

iran policy has been a disaster.

no. if elected he would easily have the most liberal platform ever. he just isnt AOC, which is fine.

again, this is an overstated point.

and yes - trump will try to litigate bidens record duhhhhhh, thats obvious. but biden doesnt have nearly the issues hillary did - sexist in nature or otherwise. and listen, im open to being wrong but look at the most recent polls in nh and iowa.

Not only did Biden vote for NAFTA, but he was part of the Obama administration which outsourced a lot of jobs and weakened a lot of rust belt communities. Easy red meat for Trump. Voters remember

Trump would spin the Iran situation as strength and it wouldn’t lose him votes. Biden wouldn’t change anything when it comes to continuous wars so it’d be a wash and win for trump.

It’s not fine. He said himself nothing would fundamentally change if elected. Lol wtf. People are hurting. Biden wouldn’t help them. Liberal platform a---. Biden is basically a Republican, mate. His policies won’t help the average worker. Talk about being in a bubble.

Still using the Bernie Bros smear, eh?

Won’t happen because they’re both 95% on the same page when it comes to policies...and they know how to be consistent and not corrupt. That’s what we “bernie bros” care about, right @Big Cuntry

pls, the left cannibalizes itself. weeks ago warren was seen as a reasonable compromise between bernie's policies and electability.

rhetoric aside, wheres bernie/aoc's record of accomplishment? keep hearing about how pure they are bc outside grassroots theyve got little to show

Y’all turned Warren into a villain...Elizabeth Warren lol. Warren-Sanders record in the senate are d--- near identical. Y’all will destroy anything that gets in Sanders way—even if it’s one of your own lol.

Did you see how low Warren stooped to smear Bernie as a sexist?? Warren did a heel turn, bro. It was cold and calculated like something Hillary would do

not disagreeing but i think the point stands bernie supporters tend to be toxic. moreso than the average candidate supporter. see the sexism leveled at hillary, or this recent #bideniscorrupt bs.

I highly doubt that came from Warren directly just like I highly doubt the volunteers the Sanders campaign sent to trash Warren came at Sanders direction. The issue here is the people Sanders puts in charge of his campaigns. They don’t know how to play nice. It was evident in 2016 & it’s evident now. You’re either with them or against them. Sanders just kind of turns a blind eye to it until recently as you noted.

I know Biden has widespread appeal (and we don't see it as much on the internet because his base skews older)—I mean clearly, he's the frontrunner in tons of states. We have abysmal voter turnout in this country, and conservatives tend to win with lower voter turnout, correct? All I said was I'm worried that Biden isn't an exciting enough candidate (which unfortunately matters) to encourage higher voter turnout (because a large part of his base are older people who are going to vote no matter what). Like I've said I might be completely wrong, because after 2016 I'm not one to hedge my bets on predictions lol. And it's very possible Biden being more toward the center will help flip some states that tend to vote red or (at least voted red last time). Luckily coastal scenesters like me are moving to Atlanta so it's on its way to becoming purple. :emoji_sunglasses:

I still think Warren could work as a reasonable compromise between progressive and establishment even I don't have full faith in her to be as progressive as she fronts. I feel like she'd be the 2020 version of Obama—which is fine—but to be honest, halfway progressive isn't good enough for me. *Just* someone being able to beat Trump isn't good enough for me (though to be clear I would not be voting Sanders if I didn't think he could beat Trump). I have to try and hope that the person I truly believe in gets elected.

I have a question for you guys though: what are your reservations regarding Bernie? We've done all this arguing and I genuinely don't know where you guys stand with universal healthcare, tax reform, etc etc lol. Is it just that the word "socialist" is going to scare too many people and he's going to be painted as a radical?

To be fair, sexism against female politicians comes from pretty much every male candidate's support pool lol. Every base is going to have pieces of s---.

What makes Bernie's fanbase more toxic than others?
