Jan 23, 2020 In the late 90s all through the encore era, you had to go to a store a buy an album. After high speed internet was popular, streaming started becoming more popular. I don’t see how anyone can hate on drake doing over a BILLION streams/sales in a week with probably his worst album. Remember when Eminem made Love the Way You Lie as a huge sellout to girls. Basically all of recovery was a pop album. I think the album is actually considered pop/rap. That’s his next worst album to revival. Also, I even remember you were one of the stans saying how Revival was going to out stream drakes latest album. I remember you saying Eminem’s 2nd week sales would be higher than drakes first week sales. Only for the exact opposite to happen lmao You guys that don’t live in the states need to understand why Eminem’s numbers are s--- these days. No venue even wants to book Eminem around here lol Thats why any show he does is away from his own country. But on a positive note, I do think Eminem’s most recent album is his best overall album, since relapse/refill. The production actually amazed me. But during Eminem’s prime, I’d argue he could put out a diss track that could go against any other rapper in their prime. I just don’t understand how something like revival took 5 years to make. I honestly still believe Rubin would throw random Eminem verses over beats and add s-----y drums and stuff. He needs to stay the h--- away from Rubin and do his own thing. I really hope eminem and 50 made like 5-7 tracks together back in the day, that they will release as a collab album and maybe have 2-3 newer songs even though they will probably be bad.
Jan 23, 2020 Well, there're no physicals out yet. Em is still very strong at physicals. Also the lack of any promo at all(even with Kamikaze they did a certain amount of promo) surely hurt the pure sales a bit. But who cares really?
Jan 23, 2020 Don’t get it twisted: 300k first week for a rapper 20+ years into his career, dropping a surprise album with literally no promotion apart from one tweet, no big radio single & no physical copies is good...insanely good
