YG Arrested for Alleged Robbery

    YG has been arrested in Los Angeles in connection with an investigation of an alleged robbery, TMZ and CBSLA report. In a statement given to Pitchfork, the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said they arrived at YG’s home early this morning (January 24) with a search warrant. The rapper was then taken into custody and is being held at Men’s Central Jail on $250,000 bail, according to CBSLA. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, January 28.

    The full LASD statement reads:

    Los Angeles County Sheriff Operation Safe Streets Detectives served a search warrant this morning in the 22000 block of Zaltana Street in Chatsworth in the furtherance of an on-going criminal investigation.
    Twenty nine year old Keenon Jackson, otherwise known as "YG", a resident at the home, was taken into custody at the time of the service pursuant to an arrest warrant. He was transported to Men's Central Jail where he was booked for robbery. Jackson's arraignment is set for Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in Compton Court. He remains in custody in lieu of $250,000 bail.

    There is no additional information available at this time.

    YG is scheduled to perform at the 2020 Grammys this Sunday, January 26, as part of a tribute to his late collaborator Nipsey Hussle.

    Pitchfork has reached out to YG’s representatives for comment and more information.

    They don’t even have a solid case on him or they would have already announced more in depth details. YG had the cops butt hurt for months now. And they’ll find the smallest thing and blow it out of proportion. We’re wasting thousands of tax paying dollars for a couple under cover cops to trail him everyday for the past 6 months and they finally think they may have some bs charge.

    You’re a confirmed snitch and someone who has called the police on neighbors over smoking marijuana when it used to be illegal. You’re a straight b---- Andy, and we all know it. You even had a total meltdown when someone posted your picture until a mod took it down. This is a fact because a mod told me you sent like 5 pm’s to the mods lmfao Insecure about your ugly looks much? Yikes!!!

    Ya I’m not like 14 yelling at my parents guys. Grow up. I’m obviously aware law enforcement targets black celebrities - but at a certain point, not all these high profile ppl are victims of 100% unwarranted search. You can like their music and also question whether they sometimes do bad s--- lol

    and of course like Andy said I'm not saying that the police are always unwarranted in their targeting of rappers (sometimes people do bad things!), but there's a clear racist pattern that isn't just isolated to the LAPD.

    Will do. And I wasn't denying it happens just agreeing w andy that not every time a rapper gets arrested its wrong or false. What if its true and he actually did rob a person (or is involved in it somehow)? You just wanna give him a pass because he's a succesful rapper ?
