Jan 22, 2020 didnt have time to give that a spin. Are there chilling songs like Nikes on my feet, diablo or thoughts from a balcony?
Jan 22, 2020 Finally gave this a spin for the first time last night, early but feels like a classic album, hard to define it.. Sounds like psychedelic R&B and Rock. He's an amazing song writer. There's not much rapping on this tbh, but it's great. It's quite similar to Swimming
Jan 22, 2020 this album is popular with everyday people. My (old) colleagues who are non-Mac Miller fans are playing Circles in Spotify. The writing and production is fire!
Jan 22, 2020 Such a beautiful album... I unfortunately didn’t make it to the listening session but I absolutely love this work of art. It’s taken me a little bit for the album to really set in. Instant classic. RIP my man Mac
Jan 22, 2020 What I love is while swimming was about pulling yourself out of the water instead of succumbing and drowning, the overall feel is pretty depressing. Circles is so much more optimistic and positive and at this point in my life, so am I. This resonates and hits so hard, we couldn't have gotten a better final project from Mac
Jan 22, 2020 It's an contemplative journey anytime I decide to sit through and play this. Very few posthumous albums ever get handled with such care, it's amazing they managed to salvage whatever Mac was close to completing. Mac has been growing more as a song-writer with every passing year, it came to no surprise to me that he was dabbling into singing more. I've been used to Mos Def & Max B singing off key so it never bothered me to hear Mac's voice, if anything it communicated his innermost emotion even more so. Altogether this is an album I'll long cherish for the rest of my life, this dude's music tugs your soul like few other people do.
Jan 24, 2020 Such an amazing album. in "I Can See" I heard that the female vocals are Ariana Grande's... Is that true?
Jan 25, 2020 All I can say is that it's surreal. To hear that he planned for a third installment is heartbreaking.
Jan 30, 2020 A new Mac song just leaked called Shut The Front Door, it probably would have been on "Maclib". Recorded around 2014.
Feb 13, 2020 A few others have mentioned that Mac's latest few releases (Divine Feminine, Swimming) didn't click as well for me as some of his mid-career work (Watching Movies, Faces, GOOD AM). I think fair to say it was the same for me initially but having sat with this album for a while, its given me a new appreciation for this sound, with this (potentially) being the best of the later trio. Major f---ing props to Jon Brion for capturing Mac's vision so well.
