Air travel statistically is the safest form of transportation. You’re far more likely to die in a car accident. The idea of dying in a plane or helicopter crash is way more frightening to most people though.

because your not in control...the pilot is...we for the most part feel we are in control of our vehicles...yet you are not in control of other drivers...which = accidents...

But since we trust ourselves...we feel like as long as we are controlling the vechicle everything will be safe...def a mind f---

knowing something is wrong and there isn’t anything you can do...is very frightening

Obviously everyone has been talking about all the good Kobe’s legacy has brought—as they should today. As with all legacies & people in general, there’s also the bad. In Kobe’s legacy, that was undoubtedly the r--- case which I’ve seen a couple people bring up on social media but were met with harsh backlash.

I honestly don’t know how to feel about people bringing it up. Kobe was the first athlete I obsessed about growing up. I have childhood memories of watching him play. It’s hard for me to be okay with someone criticizing him today but at the same time you can’t nitpick legacies. The good & bad need to be memorialized; I just don’t know if this is the appropriate time or when that time would even be.

Especially with a helicopter. You can lose both engines in a plane and your at least gliding. You got that one in a million Sully chance. Something goes wrong with a heli and you just drop out of the f---in sky. always felt like helicopters were the motorcycles of the sky. Theres no fender benders with bikes. If you crash, you crash bad

    Deeply shocked and saddened

Bryant was basketball to me, in the same way Jordan was basketball to people older than me, and LeBron is to people younger. He is my GOAT and I can't believe that he's gone so soon, he was so young and had so much to live for

no. She had issues but nothing that dissolved the allegations against Kobe.

Time and place for everything. I wouldn’t want someone bringing up the worst things I’ve ever done the day I just died in a crash with my 13 year old child, nor would I want the bad things to be brought up about anyone else in the same situation. Save your self-righteousness and moral superiority for another time. Like, I saw this disgusting tweet from this “””””””comedian””””””” on twitter and was in shock.

Def a time & place. You have to give time for at least the family. I don’t think it should be totally unmentioned for instance, I know a lot media outlets will be writing long obituaries for Kobe. I think it’d be wrong to completely leave out the r--- case because it was part of his story/legacy. However, there was a WaPo reporter who tweeted out a link about the r--- case just hours after he was reported dead. That’s just bad taste.

Also, TMZ needs to chill tf out with their reporting on celebrity deaths. Apparently when they broke the news, families hadn’t even been informed yet. They did the same thing when Michael Jackson passed away. Imagine hearing that your loved ones are dead from the news—horrific. I know it’s TMZ but have some ethical standards for f---s sake.

I definitely think it’s important to be talked about, and it will always be apart of his story. When discussing him in the future for everything that was so great about him, that side of his story can’t and won’t go unmentioned. The moments around his death don’t need to be filled with that negativity. That dude was a super hero to a lot of people, discuss the r--- stuff when it’s appropriate by all means. However, the day he came to an untimely death with his child is not the time. I can’t even begin to fathom the amount of terror he was in during his final moments on earth.

and yea it’s f--- tmz for life. A bunch of vultures. Since when is it cool to break the story first about a person dying? Like, who cares about that? Imagine finding out your family member died from TMZ? Imagine the feeling of being a family member of the unknown people also aboard the helicopter that were aware their parents or sibling were with Kobe that day, and all you see is this breaking news everywhere without any real confirmation? f--- that man

I don't believe Kobe r---d that woman one bit, he did cheat on his wife though. With that said that's his and Vanessa's business and obviously they handled it and got past it, so I'm not gonna look down on him for it.

But yeah I've seen some disgusting comments on social media, I looked at Kobe's last tweet and someone said 'unfollowed for inactivity' and it got a ton of attention, few other similar comments. I can only hope the people making those comments are young, immature and don't realize how disrespectful they're being. I feel bad for people that feel the need to post 'edgy' stuff like that just to get attention/hate or whatever the case may be. There's no excuse for it regardless but to me it's even more ridiculous if it's an adult making those sorts of comments, hopefully it's some naive stupid kid who doesn't know any better.

I'm sure I read Eminem was her first target but she couldn't get to him. I was under the impression she was basically what you said.
