Jan 16, 2020 kinda too polished compared to meet the woo imo, but I'm still hyped for the project, I'm sure there will be some hella raw tracks
Feb 13, 2020 So hows everyone feeling on this? I'll be honest, I don't think its touching the original. Dope overall and some amazing standouts, but it lacking that compact punch the first volume had.
Feb 13, 2020 I'm even more skeptical (is that how it's spelled?) than you. It's not as raw, kinda repetitive, and definitely doesn't hit as hard as the 1st one. Features aren't the most inspired either. I stay confident though, perhaps he needed to get this out of his system to start making different s---. 808melo is cool (and hears the criticism!) but pop smoke may need an executive producer or something for his next project to display his insane charisma over more ambitious production and themes
Feb 13, 2020 Yup fully agreed. Its almost like the first edition was short enough to mask his weaknesses as a rapper whereas here its just all laid bare. It also might just be that I've been getting a lot into other Brooklyn drill artists recently (22Gz, Sheff G, Fivio) and this isn't really meeting the same level those dudes have been putting out recently. Still think Pop is talented and want to hear more but this one just isn't doing it for me.
