Mar 29, 2020 fair enough. but keep in mind even a virus as spreadable as Covid isn’t transmittable by mosquitos, so bad luck is also part of your scenario for sure.
Mar 29, 2020 CDC social distancing guidelines extended through the month of April despite president Trump stating he wanted the economy running by Easter. April is going to be a rough month but Americans just gotta weather the storm now. Hopefully some of the hot areas like NYC see improvement by early May. Dr. Fauci who is leading the White House’s COVID-19 response team said that the death toll could be over 100,000 in the U.S. by the end of the year. Based on current data, the U.S. is definitely projected to be somewhere in that ball park:
Mar 29, 2020 I feel like governments are relying too much on people self isolating and "social distancing". In australia we're at shutdown level 2 going to 3 and people are still out and about in parks and stuff. Or having get togethers with a bunch of friends at someone's house. I wonder how long it'd take to flatten the curve as they say if every single person was literally locked up inside their homes without stepping out
Mar 29, 2020 >start tattoo apprenticeship >$0 per hour @ 13 days a week 9-5 sometimes later. >start earning good money as an apprentice (bout $50-$100 a day on walk-ins) .>GET CORONA'D LOL welp centrelink better hurry the f--- up i have well and truly earnt this paid holiday
Mar 30, 2020 i thought 100k was a high estimate... but then took a look at Italy (which the US has followed very closely in terms of numbers and quarantine procedures): US is 5.5 x's Italy's population we're trailing 2 weeks behind them Italy's at 11k deaths which would put us at 55k+ deaths in 2 weeks fallout after the apex 2nd wave 3rd wave
Mar 30, 2020 no doubt, deaths will grow exponentially. we hit 1 death on February 29th, 1000 deaths on thursday and 2000 sunday, we will reach 3000 tonight
Mar 30, 2020 So many people don’t understand this. The amount of people that are scientifically/mathematically illiterate in the U.S. really shows during times like this. It’s part of the reason why our response was so butchered. S. Korea however should be praised. Their response has yielded incredible results:
Mar 30, 2020 I wonder if USA/Canada/Australia's much lower population density compared to italy and spain will keep the numbers from getting too crazy like them. Do NY and NJ have higher population densities than other U.S states?
Mar 30, 2020 actually i guess it doesn't make that much of a difference since the U.S has the most cases
Mar 30, 2020 Haven’t seen a more r-----ed governor than the Massachusetts one. Cases are rising exponentially by the day and mans still refusing to lockdown the state. “Essential” businesses list be 9 pages long
Mar 30, 2020 NJ is the most densely populated state in the USA and we're right next to NYC so it's not a big surprise at the current rate it's hitting us at. The numbers are definitely a lot higher than are being reported since not everyone has access to a testing site and some people aren't going to go out of the way to get tested if their symptoms aren't as bad
Mar 30, 2020 for reference on how little testing is still taking place in the US: my friend's a nurse and was directly exposed (coughed or sneezed right into her) when she didn't have a mask on... the patient tested positive for covid. they sent her home and said to quarantine for 14 days. she developed all the symptoms, but because she didn't have serious fever (was low and inconsistent) or difficulties breathing, they said she didn't qualify for a test.
Mar 31, 2020 Same s--- happens basically everywhere. May 10th is the presidential election day in Poland. We're on somewhat lockdown, but our president said if we can go to the store, we can go vote. What a r-----. We're on ~2200 cases so far, but if election happens... welp, not good.
