Fair enough. Just wanted to hear your take on it. Kinda disappointed that he only wants to decriminalize weed and not legalize it. Schedule 2 would essentially put it into the hands of the FDA. Also can't help but wonder what he would be able to pass if the Senate still looks the same after the election.

Honestly, wouldn’t be surprised if Biden comes around on marijuana at some point in a potential presidency. It’s got wide support. However, it’s not gonna change much for red states that will still treat it as an equivalent to cocaine/heroin etc.

@Enigma what are your thoughts on Ayanna Presley or Stacey Abrams as VP?

Presley with her progressive stances, pushing for universal health care, lowering the police and pentagon budget to increase social aid, massive police reform etc etc etc.

Abrams with her semi progressive, semi moderate stances. Massive civil rights, voting rights reform, end to gerrymandering, Medicaid for all. Seems to be well educated on all the topics, with tons of council & foreign council experience.

Both bold & electrifying figures that i think could grab the youth vote better than anyone. And at the same time they don't stray too far from Bidens principles, like they're not socialists that want to abolish the police.

Feel like right now these are the only two that i really think would be a good pick unless someone else pops out into the spotlight.

Stacey Abrahams would a very intriguing choice! I wouldn’t be opposed to Biden choosing her, especially given how young she is. She could potentially be a future president. Presley I think is too inexperienced & unknown. She needs more time in Congress to make a name for herself.

I was telling @cpt awesome WPG joint acc the other day that Tammy Duckworth is my #1 choice for VP right now.

Ya Duckworth was be v interesting. Presley and abrams seem way too untested and full of themselves /their own ambitious and bs to be viable partners for biden.

I like: Duckworth, Bass kinda. Seems like outside Harris there’s a lot of buzz on Rice.

Election should be delayed until after covid. It's not fair that Biden is getting away with no campaigning.

genuinely curious wether Republicans at least contemplate jumping ship if things don’t start to look better by mid/late September.

Trump simultaneously thinks it’s safe enough for kids to go to school but too unsafe to hold an election because of the virus. I assume there wasn’t a logical reasoning section on his dementia test.

Such a flawed logic. He does not think its unsafe. It clearly has to do with voter fraud. School reopening is a different issue. Keeping it closed could do more long term damage. Lots of children depend on school for food, counseling, ect. Plus millions of children are safer in schools then at home possibly being abused.

Make no mistake: Republicans will use foreign actors to steal this election if they have to. The Trump campaigns actions in 2016 & the little to no repercussions in the fall out, laid out the framework for them to do the same thing in 2020.

538 forecast is finally published! It gives Trump a 29% of winning the presidency still, mainly because we’re still 3+ months out from Election Day. A lot of time left for Trump to be able to close the gap.

Where does Biden stand on China and Xi Jinping? Haven’t really been able to find anything on this.

Just 2 weeks after this post things are gettin shakey.

With Bidens lead in Michigan & Pennsylvania shrinking + the fear mongering Trumps base is doing & is seemingly succeeding at in the wake of these protests + the Trump protester getting killed over in Portland, it's not lookin too good.

And by god, i don't think Biden announcing Kamala as his running mate helped either. AND him saying he won't be appearing in Kenosha.

He's gotta step his game up, idk how, but he's gotta do more. More advertising, more appearances, more everything. Cause if it was election day rn, with these circumstances, he'd get pummeled.

tbh I don’t know exactly but I imagine it’s the typical democratic position? Counter-Chinese influence in Asia through building up India, support Hong-Kong independence from mainland, utilize China as a chess piece to achieve denuclearization in N. Korea, stop Chinese expansion in S. China sea etc.

I’d be very careful reading into polls right now for two reasons: 1) both conventions just ended & both candidates are experiencing small convention bounces. 2) we haven’t had many quality polls since the end of both conventions. We’re not going to truly know the state of the race until probably the 2nd week of September. At that point convention bounces will fade & we should have significant polling.

As for the Harris pick...um...it’s actually proven to an extremely beneficial pick:

Hope you're right @Enigma. I've been getting MAJOR 2016 vibes the last 3 weeks. Something I haven't felt at all this year.

Biden is +8.8 nationally. Here is his polling in swing states:
    AZ - +4.2
    FL - +5.5
    GA - -.5
    MI - +7.1
    MN - +5.5
    NC - +1.7
    OH - -.4
    PA - +5.6
    WI - +6.1

Now, like I said, we haven’t gotten very much quality polling since the end of both conventions & maybe it will show a tighter race in 2 weeks but if this is Trump’s peak...that’s not very good.
