@reservoirGod what was the term you labeled a lot of the working class to poor Republicans who have no real reason to vote for that Party but did so anyways because they think they'll eventually be rich? Millionaire Derangement Syndrome or something?

    "Temporarily Displaced Millionaire Psychosis"...

Seen it a lot... the best case was "Joe' 'the Plumber'"

He was a Plumber helper... who didn't have his certs or go through an apprenticeship to become a journeyman plumber... he actually was an entry level laborer in his 30's who made $40k a year working next to plumbers... and his name was Sam.

He accused Obama of being a Socialist and was pissed that Obama's tax plan would raise taxes on people making more than $275k a year because he was planning on making at least 10x as much as his boss would pay him real soon.

A working white man has a two coins... a poor minority has one coin.

A rich banker has 1,000,000 coins.

The banker turns to the white workingman and says "hey, you better watch out!
... that minority is trying to take one of your coins."

Not being an independent senator. Being a Democratic Senator with a focus on pulling the party platform to the left while leaving all the theatrical “Democrats are beholden to corporate money!!” out of it. It’s less about what Sanders hasn’t done & more so what he has done that ultimately f----- his opportunity to win the nomination in 2016 & 2020.

The # of Trump voters that voted for him because of economic anxiety is a bit exaggerated. There have been some studies on this & while the voters who tipped the election in his favor (say Obama voters turned Trump voters in rust belt states) may have felt some kind of economic anxiety but ultimately most republicans voted for him because he was a Republican & eventually, Republican leadership got behind him too. Voters often turn blind eyes to candidate flaws if they share the same partisan identity or they morph their views to make those “flaws” fall in line with their beliefs. Look at all the evangelicals that proudly support Trump.

I'm convinced the majority of people who identify themselves as "Conservatives" and vote Republican is because they think that makes them tough, cool and interesting like Ron Swanson, Archie Bunker and Dirty Harry.

Then they have their foxnews gals and dumb internet echo chambers to keep them from ever considering policies or morals in office.

    Dear U.S. Citizens

Whatever happens or whoever wins, I wish y'all are getting through November without a civil war.
The U.S. politics have become extremely polarized since the last election, showing the flaws of a system relying on two parties.
Before this legislature opinions inside the parties were much more diverse, now you somehow got into a state where you're forced to just run with the slogan of what your party is saying or dumb it down to emotional platitudes (partly because of the lessened attention span of consumers).
In my opinion what the U.S. population and the major parties need to discuss is a change of constitution. You need to diversify your political landscape, as mentioned before, we see what's happening now with the radicalization of both parties, this is not only toxic for the people themselves, but also hinders one to find a consesus-based way to solve problems.
Split your major parties or create new grassroot movements catering to specific problems which people then can find a common denominator to participate.
Also, I'd highly recommend replacing the executive head of state/president with several positions, each one specializing in a field, taking over the executive position for the respective departement.
They'd be either voted by the people or through the United States Congress.
This council of head of states then together votes on executive orders on the federal level, leaving party interests aside to find a common consensus (this may also help the divide caused by the great geographical distances in the U.S. territory and therefore diverting opinions).
(Hikey thinking I'd probably get lynched by a lot of people suggesting this ideas)

    About the Covid thing:
Over here in Europe cases are rising fast again and even if you think your young and can handle 'that flue', I tell you this virus may be no joke for your fellow human beings.
Everyone has a different immune system and especially for elderly and disabled people, as well as people with chronic conditions, it can get lethal real quick.
Also we still don't know the longterm effects. I personally know of 5 young people though that have had it and two of them, not all of them of course, saying that they still feel somewhat of a pressure on their lungs/have trouble breathing sometimes, even months after. IC units are slowly starting to get overfilled again and the health care staff who's been working relentlessly since month (as well as care/social workers in general, it sucks to work with a mask on and also the restrictions in social interactions) don't get any fresher, they've been under heavy pressure all this time.
We have to keep numbers low, show solidarity, wear your mask when it's necessary, try to help the people that are in need of it, minimize social interaction and stop confusing your false proudness with a fight for freedom.
We're all in this together, my individual freedom ends where the freedom of the other begins and where my own actions could cause harm to people.

I wear a mask at businesses who encourage the use of a mask.

When I see someone wearing a mask while they are driving I assume they are Uber drivers.

Yeah, its safe to assume they're just uber drivers and not admit they're living in fear. I'm really worried about the mental health crisis that the Dems created with the lockdowns. Especially if Biden wins and forces us all back inside. Not surprised this is his and Kamala's stance considering they love locking people up. Then will raises taxes on businesses in the middle of lay offs.. Its such a depressing thought. Luckily the polls are obviously wrong and we can get back to growth and happiness after the Trump landslide. Then we can outlaw the ACA and eventually ban abortion. Dems deserve everything thats coming after how they politicized this pandemic.

Trumpism is shaming people into prolonging the pandemic and destroying America further.

Other world leaders are ending COVID19 in their countries.

There is far far less cases and deaths in Europe as a whole continent than in America as a single country... even though it hit Europe first and extremely hard.

Everything you are saying is a lie.

Before the lockdowns it was worried that Italy would suffer a loss of life at the rate of Plagues from medieval times.

    Masks and quarantines saved them.

ahhh yes. This is definitely the sound campaign strategy the Trump camp needed. They’ll definitely close a 10 point gap in *squints at calendar* 2 weeks with this messaging.

we laugh, but this is exactly what the Fox News/Limbaugh/Breitbart crowd wants to hear. They eat that s--- up. For decades, Republicans have planted the seed that experts aren't to be trusted. Yeah maybe the media reported it but they're a bunch of liars; yeah scientists have come to a consensus but they're probably wrong. Climate change isn't real, Obama's birth certificate is doctored, jobs numbers are faked, pandemic is a big hoax that's going to disappear and in the meantime masks don't work, Trump's tax payment of $750 isn't real but also was obtained illegally. Absolutely laughable party.

Oh yeah it’s great for their base but like...those people are already voting Trump. They gotta persuade voters & I don’t think “Biden will listen to the scientists on the #1 issue you guys care about most!” is persuading many swing voters.

    In unrelated news, AOC >>>
