Oct 27, 2020 Let's assume it is a classic (which I still think it's not), it came out in 2011, right?. Almost 10 years ago, and nothing after that?. And before that? That's a lot. If you think about it, during the early 2000s we used to have classics almost every year. From Em, Jay, 50, etc. And the 90s? Between Pac, Snoop, Biggie, etc... Don't even get me started of music outside of hip-hop, cuz it gets even worse.
Oct 27, 2020 does snoop more than one classic? i mean doggystyle is a given obvi, but i’ve listened to some of his other albums and it’s not like he was dropping s--- of that quality frequently honestly sicko mode might be considered a classic song in a decade lol, maybe back to back too. (i don’t like either of them or drake at all for that matter just saying)
Oct 27, 2020 Yup. I'll admit Sicko Mode might just be a classic. Innovation at its peak. But I'm pretty sure Drake shouldn't get credit for that. He's lazy af. Tootsie Slide, smh.
Oct 27, 2020 I'd like to know some of them. Being an earworm doesn't make a song dope. Otherwise, Despacito and Shape of You would be dopest songs ever hands down. C'mon, what's happened to people nowadays.
Oct 27, 2020 Btw, we need to count in some classics of recent times outside Hip hop. Mostly in the experimental genre(Daughters and the like). Plus, Kids see Ghosts was, in my opinion, one of the finest albums of recent times.
Oct 27, 2020 He's dropping both AND Devil's Night. All on Friday. You can PM @M Solo he has some leaked songs off those projects.
Oct 27, 2020 Yeah it was a long time ago, was just mentioning it because you said none of them from any period are. but fwiw I agree with you, I don't personally think drake has any classics and there does seem to be fewer "classics" in general over the last half decade at least but, yeah, idk, there are always going to be drake stans as cringe as it sounds for me to type
Oct 27, 2020 God's Plan? In My feelings? One Dance? Controlla? Too Good? Work? Sicko Mode? No Guidance?
Oct 27, 2020 Ariana is dropping different covers to sell more. Taylor did the same thing. I Don't get why people s--- on Drake so much Take Care, IYRTITL, More Life & WATTBA are dope. And he's obviously a hit maker.
Oct 27, 2020 The way I see it, he has no real talent. He's like... pure marketing. Commercial stuff back to back. Music for chicks - not that there's anything wrong about that, It just ain't for me.
Oct 27, 2020 You have to be talented to have so many hits. And I doubt he's done yet, so I expect more. His albums are overrated, but dude is one of the most fun artists imo, and people go to him when they fall and they need a hit.
Oct 27, 2020 Rappers should promote their projects before being mad at the label. Last time Em associated himself with a project (Slaughterhouse) people trashed it even more.
