Day 46: Daya - First Time

Another underrated synthpop artist for today. Daya released her critically acclaimed self titled EP in 2015, at only 16 years old leading to her song Hide Away peaking at 23 on the Billboard 100, which is impressive to say atleast. Her collab with The Chainsmokers Don't Let Me Down also won a grammy by the way, so she was already able to check that off her bucket list. I'm patiently waiting for her new album since her last one dropped 4 years ago but in the meantime she released a decent amount of singles, her most recent one being First Time which gives you an guaranteed earworm. Enjoy!

    Day 47: Ebenezer - 25

I'm a sucker for good R'n'B and Ebenezer is a promising young talent, who like Ty Dolla Sign, produces, engineers, composes and writes everything himself. His EP Bad Romantic 2 is his most fleshed out piece of work yet and features some amazing songs with 25 and Flexible (the latter has a strong dancehall Drake influence and is catchy as h---) being my favorite ones. Other memorable songs of him are the Flaws and All remix featuring Lil Durk and No Good For Me with Jeremih (the song that made me check out his other music).

Day 48: Sam Wise - How It Feels

Once again, the youtube algorithm led me to an amazing song and artist. I haven't really talked about it much but I do enjoy a lot of british hip hop/grime, even though I only scratched the surface of this genre. Sam Wise is a british rapper from Kensington, South London and part of the House Of Pharaos collective who got some great stuff in their catalogue (they are kinda like London's Pro Era). How It Feels features Sam Wise rapping over a Playboi Carti'esque ethereal beat and describing how to stay focused during tough times. It's a good feeling song and definitely something I can vibe to. Will keep my eyes on this artist, be sure to do the same and check out his other stuff aswell.

Day 49: Dej Loaf - No Fear

Been on a Dej wave since her album dropped yesterday (which is amazing by the way) and next to her good feeling single Liberated with Leon Bridges this might be one of my favorite songs of her. I know there is and always will be an oversaturation of mediocre love songs and I myself aren't a big fan of those by the numbers fake love stories but according to Dej, this song depicts the truth. It doesn't really matter in the end since it's a well made, catchy song which really suits Dej's unique voice and singing ability. Of course she made some solid rap performances too but I like that she doesn't limit herself to just rapping bars and also experiments with more pop-like sounds. ♤

Day 50: Kacy Hill - Much Higher

Most of you probably know Kacy Hill from Travis' amazing Rodeo cut 90210. She's also a model and was a background dancer at Kanye's Yeezus tour and was signed to Good Music until 2019. Her 2017 debut album Like A Woman was nothing short but amazing and featured a big amount of DJDS production, another artist group that already made an appearance in this thread. Her most recent album Is It Selfish If We Talk About Me Again, which is executive produced by Francis and the Lights and features production by Jim E Stack (another familiar name) and Cashmere Cat amongst others aswell, is a great Alternative pop release that will definitely get more spins as fall season is already among us. The Jim E Stack produced song Much Higher is truly a blessing, everytime the Spotify shuffle decides to play it. Though I might share it, since a lot of you seem to like this type of stuff. 50 songs already, time flies.

Day 51: Jackboy - Aggy (feat. Tyga)

Jackboy, who isn't in any way linked with Travis JackBoys, has a sharp ear for melodies and emits raw emotive power, something that endeared him to Kodak Blacks Sniper g--- imprint. Thanks to the latter he is doing respectable streaming numbers and is starting to become a household name in Florida's rap scene. His latest song Aggy is a catchy song that's been in constant rotation since it dropped. Tyga is a welcome addition to the song, since his flow matches the beat perfectly. Together they build a well round combo and deliever a solid collab that might catch a considerable amount of attention in the future, if being promoted right.

Great song. He sounded a lot like Kodak clone on his first album but I love how he brings in those weird a--- vocal inflections sometimes.

Day 52: Johan Lenox - throwback thursday (feat. Kota the Friend & Lil Keed)

Fell in love with this song. Johan Lenox is an interesting character: He was born in Boston and besides being a producer and singer he's also an classical composer. More specifically, he was the composer of the musical series Yeethoven, a mashup of Beethoven compositions and Kanye songs. Check it out on youtube, it's honestly great! He also composed the orchestral section of the We Got Love performance on SNL (listen to the ending of the official version by Teyana, that's his composition). Fittingly his 2019 debut project everybody's cool but me combines orchestral strings with hip hop beats and it's beautiful to listen to, I can't stress it enough. His 2020 follow up cancel the party features a more mainstream sound, aswell as features from Landon Cube, Yung Pinch & Wifisfuneral, which was a lil bit disappointing. His most recent single throwback thursday luckily returns to the amazing sound, Johan already established. It also spawned a couple of remixes, one of them made by Keyon Christ which is amazing on it's own.

    Day 53: nothing,nowhere. - blood (feat. KennyHoopla & JUDGE)

Joe Mulherin, known (or not) by his stage name nothing, nowhere. is another multitalent who does everything by himself, starting from producing to writing. He has an interesting discography, most of it settled in the pop punk genre, but songs like hammer and lights (4444) are showing some emo rap/trap influences. Hardly surprising that most of his songs deal with some sad s---, so if you're sick of these type of songs, he might not be an artist for you. I myself can always appreciate a taste of bittersweetness in my life and since blood is also featuring the new school grunge shooting star KennyHoppla that I already showcased in my other thread, I figured it was the perfect choice for todays entry.
