Oct 29, 2020 You don't have to understand politics in order to have an opinion and be able to tell right from wrong. Just like you don't have to be a producer or an engineer in order to like a song or not.
Oct 29, 2020 You should’ve seen this place after Em’s BET cypher about Trump, so many people were so mad & just chatting s--- lol it was a shambles
Oct 29, 2020 I was thinking about Mike's fight. Heard he was performing (before wave 2 started though) But who knows, it's just rumours right now.
Oct 29, 2020 Regarding the "Eminem has nothing to rap about". I would be inclined to agree with that. He done did it all. However, that is true for every rapper with such a long career. As "free" as Hip-Hop is in terms of what you can talk about in songs, freedom of speech, message, content, etc... it's also limited by their own fanbase. You don't want Eminem to talk about love. You don't want him to get too political. You don't want him to talk about bling bling and gold chains as much as JayZ fans probably wouldn't want him to talk about murdering some b---- and then raping her on some Relapse s---. Other genres are easier in this aspect. They can make 5 albums with nothing but love songs, with different approaches, different melodies and different features, but all about the same topic. -You cheated on me. -I cheated on you. -I love you, you don't love me. -You still love me, I don't love you anymore. -We love each other, our relationship is perfect, you saved my life. -We just met and it was love at first sight. -Casual sex. -I'm depressed because you left. -I took you for granted. I could go on for days making up s--- like this. But y'all get the point. Most Pop/RnB songs are like that (which are the main genres besides Hip-Hop). Eminem has said a few times that "rhyming gets easier, but rapping gets harder" in time. He also said that an artist's career is like a blank sheet of paper, when you start you can do whatever you want, go in any direction, but as years go by, the sheet starts to get more and more filled, until there's no more space. Now he's at a point in which he can bend words and create patterns or schemes that are incredible, but he's ran out of content. And on top of that, as you become more famous, and bigger and larger than life, you also start to alienate yourself. You are not in the streets anymore. You start losing your touch about "everyday issues". You can't rap about gangs, drugs, hustling, etc anymore because that's just not the life you live anymore... so it wouldn't sound realistic even if you tried to.
Oct 29, 2020 Delivery wasn’t great but the message was mostly good. Funniest thing was seeing all the Trump worshippers get wound up. That was the real entertainment.
Oct 29, 2020 Jay, Nas, Wayne and Kanye still dropping albums. He just needs better content than goofy s--- and toxic relationships, it can't be that hard. He should also work with other legends, that might inspire him.
