Dec 23, 2020 I dont think more songs on the album like this would be a great idea. The fact that he closed the album w this makes it even more impressive and perfect to me tbh
Dec 23, 2020 Couldn't agree more. Which is exactly why I don't rate Relapse that high up on my list. It gets very tiring. Two or three songs with accents out of 20, would have been fire on Relapse. But 10? 12? Nah man.
Dec 23, 2020 I'mma say this, you can judge a mix by looking at a EQ. even when the song is done. (Engineers use a tool called Spectrum Analyzer, it works the same way) The vocals sit at the mids anyway, and that space is very pronounced. Do y'all really think I circled that spot just for fun? It's okay if y'all enjoy the mix, maybe it's just me. Dre's compton was very bright because they pushed the highs, everyone noticed that though.. Edit: You can "push the mids" in mastering too, btw.
Dec 23, 2020 Why was Gnat the first single? Should have been Zeus or Higher. Could you imagine a video for Higher with the Shady chants from a packed stadium? Paul really does make some stupid decisions when it comes to Em’s first single and videos released.
Dec 23, 2020 When you push the mids of a vocal track too much, it starts to sound like an old Radio or a Telephone. And Discombobulated sounds nothing like that. In fact, the only vocals of the album that sound like that are the adlibs in some of the songs, which is a common effect used by pretty much everyone in the industry. Filtering adlibs like that to distance it from the lead vocal track. I've listened to this album on my PC with studio monitors. On my car with a nice sound system AND on my TV with a home theatre. That's why I'm so confident telling you this is the best Eminem album in terms of EQ, Compression and overall Mixing. I can't find any other album of his that sounds so clear and uniform throughout the whole tracklist.
Dec 23, 2020 Discombobulated is Em’s best track in years. Classic old school shady beat and flow. Could you imagine 16 track album with the beat and flow of Discombobulated?
Dec 23, 2020 Unfortunately critics will never write great reviews of Em albums no more, that ended after Relapse. It’s now just all hate and writing lies and nonsense just for clicks. The Rolling Stone review is a perfect example of this. I wish Em would make a track about critics and destroy all the losers at Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Revolt, and that little f---ing Penfold lookalike Fantano!
Dec 23, 2020 You are the type of dude that would check Em's mic to see if it has saliva on it after a concert
Dec 23, 2020 Zeus won't be a single. There's no way Em would make a video for a song in which he addresses Snoop Dogg like that.
Dec 23, 2020 It’s great but the vocals aren’t as good as Side A, that’s it. Compare that to what we’ve gotten on ShadyXV, Revival etc - this is a non issue, but interesting nonetheless.
Dec 23, 2020 Being a Stan is one thing. Telling other people to stream the album to get it to number 1 is plain pathetic. "Mobilize" smh. If Em isn't keen on it there's no point.
Dec 23, 2020 This doesn't say anything. Side B is a mess when it comes to stream. 20M on the first day on Spotify vs 50M first day (Side A). Taylor and Paul also have physical copies in circulation. So yeah...I suppose we'll get something similar to Revival 2 in this case. Which is a shame since everything post Kamikaze (album or feature) were nailed perfectly and it was a choice of good direction.
Dec 23, 2020 Nah, videos were just recorded before the album drop. He dropped Fall and then Lucky You just to block Rap Devil from getting viral. Venom was dropped once with the movie and then we had Good Guy in December.
