Jan 16, 2021 I’m still a stubborn a--- who refuse to listen to an album until the cd is out in order to maintain the remaints of the magic. So, I’ve been listening to it just since the Friday. I hope my first impressions review brings some of the possitivity back to this troll-ridden (and troll-rotten) thread. Black Magic – it is okayish, not even that bad, but it shouldn’t actually exist. Not as an opening – for sure. Alfred’s theme – the proper opening. The sample is used in a very creative way. The song seems a bit heavy at the first listen but grows on you pretty fast. Campaign Speech type track. I love them all. Tone Deaf – the beat slaps. SSLP vibes. Book of Rhymes – It needed some time to grown on me, but f--- – that’s one dope track. Except, the second beat is so so. Favourite b---- – an okay track. A bit unnessesary but it doesn’t hurt. Guns Blazing – very good. Not really outstanding but nice collaboration from Dre and Em. Better than For the Old Times Sake and SWYS, I guess. Gnat – addictive flow and beats. Good choice for a single (even if there are better ones on the cd). Higher – classic Em beat with new, calmer flow and voice. The experiment comes across successful. I like those short verses with one flow and rhyme scheme repeated over and over. These Demons – definitely one of my favourite tracks. Plus, at the end of the second verse, he sounds like on MMLP. She Loves Me – sounds a bit like 2004, and a bit like 2009. The beat slaps. As for the content... Yeah, at least, it sounds good. Killer – at last, Em’s club b-----r that actually sounds like one. Zeus – Excellent track. I just wish someone like Kid Cudi was on the chorus. I don’t get all the fuss about the White Gold. Discom.... Yeah. That must have been shocking to ya’ll at the first listen. A great closing song. Killer,and/ or Zeus should be singles. The beats are amazing on this one. His best selected beats since 2009. I noticed Fantano tends to review music as if he reviewed literature. Songs aren’t all about the lyrics. Wtf? It seems to be the only thing he cares about.

Jan 16, 2021 Devil's Night turns 20 in June, we will see how that goes. I would love a D12 shirt, something simple with the logo. I used to have one back in the days.
