    d--- bro that's straight torture. I haven't smoked in years but when I did I was up to a pack a day and more when I drank. Tried the gum, tried to vape and cut back similar to you but I was just giving myself more of an addictive drug every day. I finally said f--- it and went cold turkey which was the best method for me at least. It s----d for 3 weeks, mostly when drinking and then slowly week by week the cravings went away.

    Well done man! I'd done cold turkey once before (not my own choice) and it just didn't work. My method wasn't torture at all though because initially I didn't do it to quit. I had no desires to quit smoking at all, just replace it.

    I used to smoke the exact same amount as you. What worked for me were nicotine patches + nicotine gum.

    Patches do a really good job eliminating most of the urge and when I still felt the need for a cig I would take a gum.

    I didn't even have to do the patches for as long as they suggested. Did step one for a couple weeks, then started step 2 for another couple weeks and was pretty much done after that.

    Haven't smoked since last april.

    Vaping never worked for me and for most people I know as well. It ended up being a crutch and they always have that thing in their mouth. They ended up vaping more than they smoked.

    Yup that's pretty much the best way. That or nicotine patches if you can't do it cold turkey.

    Cutting down or starting vaping is prolonging the torture imo. But I guess it works for some people.

    Well done on quitting man!

    This is exactly what happened with me. I definitely vaped more than I smoked. I put that down to getting the nicotine levels right. It took me a couple of months to learn about the different mgs of nicotine in the liquids. Once I figured that out and went as high as I could then it was much easier.

    @Translucent how is it going?
    This morning is my 7th day since I quit. I went cold turkey with it and I feel okay. The only issue that I have is that I'm very angry lol, but after smoking for 17 months 2-3 packs a day that's understandable for me.

    When I was 22 I did the same thing and lasted 10 years, I hope this time will never smoke til I die.
