Jan 20, 2021 I wonder if he'll ever revert back to his regular voice (Mike Tyson interview... Stepping Stone... HTS and before). I'm fine with both voices but just like he can do accents and the current (mmlp2 and onwards) voice, why not do a few songs with the regular voice as well? I guess he thinks the positivity of MMLP2 was because of the voice at that time had a spice of anger to it so he continues to do it. Again, I'm fine with both voices but I'm just thinking will he keep it up forever now or.
Jan 20, 2021 Gunz Blazing is about their exes, how is that not a song about chicks? And Black Magic? Even if he's not talking bout an actual girl, it's the same LTWYL formula over and over again. I don't care if he's talking about fame, Hip Hop or whatever.
Jan 20, 2021 I can’t stand the content argument. Dudes want a philosophical thesis on Quantum physics and the state of politics on a DJ premier or Alchemist beat
Jan 20, 2021 LTWYL formula? Are we talking about River? Those were fictional stories about abusive relationships. Black Magic & Never Love Again are metaphors, one for music/hip hop, the other one for drugs. So you consider Kim & Bad Husband "songs about chicks"? I only use that term for the tired formula of fictional toxic relationship tales or "women ain't s---" tracks, not for stories based on Em's real relationships, and certainly not for songs where the women are clear metaphors for something else...
Jan 20, 2021 Nah, something that is not related to his relationships with critics would be enough. I hope his next project will be completely different. I don't care what theme he will pick, he can rap about nosql databases or whatever, just no more answers to critics and explaining why he is better than almost everybody else in the game. I believe he understands this too, that's why he didn't release side b as a new seperate album.
Jan 20, 2021 I have a theory that Diddy told Eminem "MFer, you will say on record you're my side b---- or you'll have problems" and Eminem figured a clever way to incorporate it into a song as if he made a funny mistake.
Jan 20, 2021 I'm not talking about the old songs. I'm talking bout this metaphoric songs being the same "the sex so good", I love her but... formula again. That was cool for Recovery (LTWYL, 25 To Life,...) now he has overdone it.
Jan 20, 2021 What you said does not describe either of the songs you listed, LTWYL is not metaphore, and 25 To Life is about how Em does not feel the Rap game gives him the props he deserves, he does not even mention sex (not related to the argument we're having atm, but I could not not mention this line after listening to the track again: "But you keep treatin' me like a staircase: it's time to f---in' step" ffs Em (but I guess Em's writing is worse now, right?)). I don't care if he had already used the general concept before, Never Love Again is one of the best songs Em has ever written, period, and it's galaxies ahead of 25 To Life (and LTWYL for that matter).
