Introducing: SXN Ambassadors

    One of the first things I wanted to do here was to revamp the way we approach modding—obviously we need people to do the nitty gritty stuff like moving threads and banning spacemonkey, but I always thought that they could take a more "official" role in creating content. For that reason, we've decided to revive sxn-specific moderators in addition to our team of global mods.

    I call them SXN Ambassadors rather than SXN mods because, while they still have mod powers, their primary goal is to make creative threads and foster good discussion. Though SXN80 hit a slump in 2018 that lasted for nearly two years, we've had somewhat of a renaissance the past year that I think we can keep up beyond quarantine with the help of the Ambassadors, mods, and the rest of the forum.

    So please welcome...

    @Chuny as our Ambassador for the EminemSXN!

    @Captain Awesome AKA Papa as our EntertainmentSXN Ambassador!

    @Grim and @yeez2 as our Life SXN Ambassadors!

    @Antman @Jeans and @Chrollo for our MusicSXN Ambassadors!

    @Tyler is also going to be helping with the CreativeSXN and other aspects of the site, but isn't an official Ambassador.

    In addition, some of our global mods are gonna be helping out the Ambassadors out with their SXNs—which is really more a matter of making things more formal because they've been breathing life into these SXNs for awhile now:

    @Michael Myers will be helping with the LifeSXN
    @Ricky with the CreativeSXN
    @Sav Stanfield with the MusicSXN
    @Sign Language with the EntertainmentSXN

    Also: there are a few more Ambassador spots to fill (still deciding on how many per SXN and which SXNs even need one), so if you are interested in helping with that (or another aspect of the site), please post here or DM me. I need:
    1-2 people for sports
    1 person for the gaming/tech side of entertainment
    1-2 people for creative
    Possibly a spot or two for OT or other artist SXNs

    Hopefully this will increase quality activity from current members & in turn attract new members.

    Moderating low quality spam, less cult-like behaviour & general hostility towards each other, including new members, will do wonders here.

    Yup part of the is the goal is to lessen this stuff/contain it to OT. Which reminds me—with the help of @Chuny (who's admined/modded other forums) we're working on a list of member expectations—nothing too stodgy and formal, there's just literally never been forum rules here so I'd like to have something we can easily point to when people are spamming or generally being c----.

    ^With that being said I propose myself to be an ambassador for the gaming/tech part of Entertainment if you need one. I'd love to help create content for that part of S80. Tech and gaming are part of my daily life.

    Can I get the coveted CreativeSXN ambassador role. I would really like to make that SXN the best SXN possible for people who create the music and for people who listen to the music they created.

    I also have some ideas in store. :emoji_wink:

    I may also ditch that stupid avatar and name I currently have for something different if made an ambassador.
