Mar 1, 2021 It’s surprising people still even sign with Shady. Aside from 50, most signees haven’t done ANYTHING. Obie was probably second most productive. Then you’ve got: Cashis, Bobby Creekwater, Yelawolf, Slaughterhouse etc. IMO Westside Boogie is really good but he isn’t really getting attention, which is unfortunate. But why did Griselda sign with Shady in the first place? also I wasn’t particularly impressed with them anyway.
Mar 1, 2021 Griselda aren’t signed under the label, they just have a distribution deal with them. I’m pretty sure only Westside Gunn has released a project with them, Conway’s was delayed, but it doesn’t stop them from pushing out projects like usual outside of the label so they aren’t negatively affected by the deal.
Mar 1, 2021 While 50 as a whole is the best thing out of shady, yelawolf is still the most creative artist ever under shady. And he gave us a classic, something that only fifty did
Mar 1, 2021 Obie and 50 were good. D12 is kinda... depends on how u look at it. DN was a classic, amazing album. But thats is thanks to Em, even if the other ones were fine they wouldnt be able to do it without Em. And Bizzy... i cant stand him. Kuniva, Swifty and Proof was pretty good imo. Rest of Shady has been pretty s--- if u ask me. I can respect Yelas creativity, but i dont really like to listen to him, not my type.. but Love Story was pretty good and i really enjoy devil in my veins
Mar 1, 2021 Nah I’m not saying he wasn’t dope, his career just didn’t end up being helped as much by Shady as 50 Cent’s did.
Mar 1, 2021 Just clarifying: my post was more about the artist’s benefit from the label than it was about the music.
Mar 1, 2021 Well, he ended up having platinum albums and his music videos on MTV. That's pretty big for a small artist from Detroit. Not to mention touring with Em and 50 at their peak.
Mar 1, 2021 The one that was treated like s--- was Cashis. Dude was so loyal, and all he got was a nice lil EP. Not even a whole album.
Mar 1, 2021 Yeah Obie was just a drunk that couldn’t get out of the cycle, he killed his own career, nothing anyone but himself could do to be honest.
Mar 1, 2021 Second Rounds On Me was ok, it was a bit of a stepdown from Cheers, just like D12 World was to Devil's Night. Cool artist, but as soon as he got dropped, I kinda lost interest. Just like with smaller artists like Cashis or Stat.
Mar 2, 2021 WESTSIDE Boogie is the best artist on Shady since...50 Cent! He’s easily one of the dopest spitters in the game currently. f--- fame, recognition, etc. Wish Em would drop a hot a--- single with him so, he could blow the f--- up!! Give the world a Patiently Waiting with Boogie.
Mar 2, 2021 I doubt Em can do that with Boogie... A Patiently Waiting track wouldn't blow up today, didn't really made 50 blow up back in the days neither anyway. Not sure if Em could help Boogie get a huge single tho. Most he could do was probably Rainy Days...
