Mar 8, 2021 Jeez, just don't buy and listen to the next album. Why should the guy stop just because your taste is...
Mar 8, 2021 As a big em fan I hate both recovery and mmlp2, music to be murdered by was far better than both of them. This is why em will never win, everyone wants different things.
Mar 9, 2021 Exactly. Some of us still enjoy his music. MTBMB is his best album since TES, and it's his 3rd best album (for me). But some of you would rather he retired and deny those of us who think he's at his 2nd prime, instead of simply not listening to anything new he releases, because it'd be as easy as that, really. That's selfish as h---. Don't like it don't listen.
Mar 9, 2021 “I’m in your house eating carrot cake” line makes me smile. Has never happened before. For example, So Far has funny lines but it sounds horrible. Rick Rubin and Em are a terrible combo.
Mar 9, 2021 "Doesn't matter, if it's not what I want to hear then he needs to retire" mentality is so dumb
Mar 9, 2021 Yeah this take is pretty lud. Making a criticism is one thing but suggesting he retire just because you don't like his latest work? Come on man. Plus your "critique" is very subjective anyway. Personally I ain't been feeling Em lately but if I was to make a post like this I'd try to have more actual points, not just "this is s--- I don't like it." And the "hurting his legacy" argument is pointless imo. Depending on how you look at it, you could say that already happened the minute Encore dropped. Or Recovery. Or MMLP2. It's all subjective.
Mar 10, 2021 So Far is fantastic, what the h---? One of the most original songs he’s made in the last decade lol
Mar 10, 2021 Yeah, just like I love Relapse. I think it's way easier to listen to than Side A, and I also like the hooks and the production more. But like I've said before, his content and bad lines still his biggest issues. It's just more fun and sounds better than MMLP2.
Mar 10, 2021 I think you focus on the bad lines too much, buddy. And not just you particularly, but many others do that too. Try not to let yourself get stuck in that bit and appreciate the good on this album. He's having fun throughout the whole project. He finally found a voice that suits him (it's not the immaculate style from 2000-2003 but it's still miles better than the screaming raspy one from 2013-2017 either), his lyrical dexterity is better than ever, his writing is still great, flows are amazing, beats are some of the best of his discography. Don't let 8 or 10 corny lines ruin a great project. You never know when (or if) you'll get something this good from him again. And you'll never know if he'll ever be able to go back to his 2000-2003 style (although it'd be safe to assume he won't) so just embrace it.
Mar 11, 2021 I still think Side B is fun and replayable though. So it's far from his worst project imo.
