May 18, 2021 I was around 10 hours I believe but I tried to find all of the side stuff besides the goats and some hidden treasures that you had too s---t down from walls and s--- I had to Google for animal locations though so it probably would've been way longer if I did that without the guide lol
May 18, 2021 I don’t think it counts any time on pause/merchant/items/crafting, cuz I def left mine idling on on those screens a bunch Good game! Not as good as 7, but good and scratched my RE itch. I think I’m gonna do a new game plus on the hardest difficulty after I beat 7. If RE7 is a 9.5/10, RE8 is a 7.5/10. But I’ll discuss in more detail when you finish cuz I don’t wanna spoil it.
May 18, 2021 Think the timer resets when you die or reload, too. I'm also def way more positive on RE8 than you, thought it blew 7 out of the water and I thought 7 was cool.
May 18, 2021 I'm still in the process of replaying 7 so I'll see if my opinion changes. I might be going a little hard on 8 (could bump it up to an 8/10) but my general opinions: Spoiler: late game spoilers for RE8 I loved the castle stuff, loved the doll house, the fish call back to RE4 was cool, but I wasn't a huge fan of when it became Call of Duty after that. The wolf den wasn't my favorite, and I felt like the factory was a real missed opportunity. I enjoyed both of the areas but I much preferred the earlier portions of the game. And the Chris portion truly was basically COD lol. I also didn't think the open world aspect with the side quests was necessary for a RE game. I was glad for the extra content don't get me wrong, but they slowed down the momentum of the game for me.
May 18, 2021 I remember 7 being good but 9.5/10? d---. I'm definitely gonna replay it after finishing 8. It's been like 4 years. For me RE 2 Remake is hands down the GOAT RE game. It's probably one of the best remakes of a game ever. Oddly enough, i've never been a big fan of puzzle solving and that game had a lot. But there was just something about the atmosphere and the story that drew me in. Everything about it was perfect. RE 3 Remake was great as well but it felt a bit rushed. Story only took about 6 hours to complete. Anyway, I assume you've played them already but if you haven't try them out asap lol.
May 18, 2021 7 starts off great and scary but the second half of the game is just as action heavy as 8. Not that I think that’s a negative, I liked the shooting mechanics, but also feel the turn towards shooting after crafting the antidote gets overlooked because the first half is so strong. Spoiler def agree 8 has some pacing issues, Heisenberg’s factory way overstayed it’s welcome, also wasn’t keen on the doll house. I like the idea of it but kinda felt like a gimmick, and stripping all of our weapons away felt cheap like they couldn’t think of any other way to make it scary. Loved the wolf den tho, fighting through overwhelming odds and taking out a whole army was exciting and tense, standout moment for me.
May 23, 2021 You pretty much nailed it with your spoiler. Spoiler I think i'm reaching the end of the factory and the game reminds me more of Wolfenstein now than it does Resident Evil. Not a fan of the metal Robots. Wasn't a fan of the wolf's Den either. You're 100% right that the first portion of the game was better. The castle was stunning and really well done. Same with the Beneviento house but then it gradually goes downhill. I wish they would have gone the castle route and expanded on it. Second half of the game feels completely different. Less suspense and more action/shooter oriented. It's not bad, but it could have been much better. Apparently this game was supposed to be Revelations 3 when they first started working on it. They added different parts and elements to the game and it turned out to be what we know now as RE Village. Anyway, it's still a great RE game, but like you said, the second half does bring it down a bit.
Jun 20, 2021 I just bought Days Gone. 2 hours of gameplay and i'm already getting bored of the game lol.
Jun 20, 2021 Finished Fallout 3 last week and currently playing New Vegas. After New Vegas I'm planning to replay both before moving on to skyrim
Jun 20, 2021 Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. It's fun, but doesn't have the personality of the previous games. Still 100%'d it tho.
Jun 21, 2021 Just bought Assassin's Creed Valhala. Gonna play later today. Days Gone s----d. $50 in the toilet.
Jun 21, 2021 I've been playing Warzone. It's hard when you have to juggle survival with managing team members who just do what the f--- they want. Will buy BF:2042 when it releases.
Jun 21, 2021 Heard good things about the new Ratchet & Clank. I never got into that franchise, so I started playing the PlayStation Hits Ratchet & Clank from PS Plus to familiarize myself with a bit in preparation for the new game.
Jun 22, 2021 Just finished the story on GTA5. Don't know what to play next as I just don't have the time any more.
Jun 28, 2021 Tomb Raider 2013 Definitive Edition ($3 on PSN, I thiiiiiink the sale is still on). Have the two sequels for free from ps+ but was waiting til this one went on sale. Really enjoying this, it's sorta like Uncharted but with a little more survival and horror aspects.
Jun 28, 2021 Also @Wreckless @Winter after replaying RE7 I think 7 and 8 are a lot closer than I thought. I completely forgot the Salt Mines were even an area in 7, and imo that's the worst portion of either game. Will prob replay 8 on the hardest difficulty soon.
