    Nay

I would go good kid as well, but I don’t think it’s head and shoulders above his other albums. I think to p---- is very good as well. It just has a very different sound compared to good kid.

I’m not surprised so many prefer good kid because it’s more commercial friendly. To p---- is not commercial/radio type album and sounds more conscious, so naturally ppl aren’t gonna like it as much

Yay. Even though, TPAB is his best rated work and GKMC is considered a classic by many. I think d--- has the best replay value out of all Kendrick albums. I used to bump it constantly. And easy Yay for me.

Nay, loved d--- at first, definitely a good album but overrated. In terms of how much I enjoy a kdot project my rankings are

    S80
    O.D
    GKMC
    d---
    TPAB

Kendrick Lamar EP has some awesome songs too. Psyched for his next album, his discog is strong and versatile atm.

Hello, S80! We’ve been through a lot as a forum, now haven’t we? We’ve had stalkers, weirdos, and white supremacists take over the place. It’s been disheartening to see a rap forum that loves Black Culture take this direction. We’re the only place I can think of that has spoken on Tom McDonald in a positive light. Isn’t that telling?

So we have to rectify the situation. The summer is here, things are starting to pick up in the world (even though I’m wearing a mask as I type this). We have the opportunity not only as a forum but as people to grow and take care of our neighbors. Sure, we have people like Grimace and other creeps that made our experiences uncomfortable... but I say it’s time to start a new chapter.

Yay or Nay is a beloved, appreciated thread here. Andy and I realized not only did this give S80 activity but it’s quite fun! That’s one thing Grimace did right. So here we are ready to pick this back up! Tentatively, we will be switching between New School and the Old School eras of rap music.

For the first Yay or Nay, we are going to present the argument of:

    Culture II > Culture I

The first time I heard Migos’ Culture, I was high off my rocker. With a lit blunt in the ashtray and a tall boy of a cheap, terrible beer on the nightstand; I was jamming out with the Migos from the comfort of my room. Culture presented itself to the masses during a time of need: Donald Trump started his dictatorship, we started giving a s--- about the Royals thanks to Megan Markle, and the World simply s----d.

Culture came to us in an illuminating glow like the second coming of Jesus Christ. The three wise men in Takeoff, Quavo, and Offset were here presenting the gifts of luxury auto tune , Lil Uzi Vert’s infamous Bad and Boujee verse, and groupies eating Molly like it’s rice. During that angelic 58 minutes, the World didn’t seem so bad after all. And Travis Scott didn’t sound bored with his verses back then.

With the bar being set with Culture, how were they going to top it with the sequel? It's simple: bigger and better. Culture II was a Trap Blockbuster set to not only capitalize off the first installment but to elevate the culture altogether. Culture II is much longer, which some viewed as one of the project’s central issues. On top of the nearly 2-hour runtime, the Migos were virtually everywhere. They’ve completely saturated the market from a slew of features (including Katy Perry) to brand endorsements such as Avianne Jewelers and Beats by Dre.

Culture II is more polished than its predecessor and greatly more versatile in terms of production too. While the album’s length was initially a highly coveted topic, Migos were ahead of the game, more ahead than Uzi’s Eternal Atake Deluxe Edition madness. How you may ask? The streaming game. They capitalized while the industry wasn’t still transitioning and stayed afloat.

You can make a few 10-track albums out of Culture II’s original tracklist and still come out with a product that’s stronger than the first installment. That’s why, I say:

    Culture II > Culture

Honestly don't know how to answer this, they're both great. The first is a tighter album and I'm more inclined to listen to it all the way through in one sitting, but the second has higher highs imo. Feeling a yay but I'm not ready to commit to that.

    Culture 1 is a classic

Uzi tried hard to ruin this one, but it was still dope

They haven't been the same since then, even their solos were weak.

I really like both but Culture I takes the cake for me. Culture I just has more classic songs and has no dull moments.
