Mar 4, 2022 Premonition Unaccommodating You Gon Learn Godzilla Darkness Leaving Heaven Yah Yah Marsh Little Engine Lock It Up I Will Alfred's Theme Book Of Rhymes Favorite b---- Guns Blazing Gnat Higher These Demons Zeus Discombobulated This is the best version of MTBMB imo. Side A has more great songs, but Side B is more consistent.
Mar 4, 2022 I'd need to listen to both again, but I don't want to. Pretty sure I liked side B quite a bit better.
Mar 7, 2022 If you delete all the songs on side a it’s definitely better than side b if you want to compare the sound of the albums
Apr 11, 2022 I don't think Side B is more consistent... in what way? I like almost every song on Side A and I think they go together better than the songs on Side B, though Side B is very coherent somehow sonically too - he really fixed that issue since f---ing up MMLP2 & Revival so bad with that @ being all over the place tonally. But Side B has way worse writing IMO. SO many corny puns throughout. Side A has some, always, but much better writing on the whole IMO.
Apr 11, 2022 What are the horrible songs on Side A? I've got my least favourites like... 'In Too Deep' (though, for Em, it was a semi-interesting version of the never-ending love song he keeps making, and he pulled off the singing fairly well too) and... 'Stepdad', but I don't consider them bad songs. I think Side A flows and works as an album really well.
Apr 12, 2022 Side A has more diverse & Complete songs. Similarly to Recovery, it had more potential singles. Side B was similar to MMLP2, just Em rapping for fun and being technical. There is no way Tone deaf, Book of Rhymes or Alfred’s theme had single potential. But Godzilla, Marsh and Never love again definitely had crossover radio/Streaming appeal. The production and beats are way better on side B. And Zues could have been as big as Godzilla if it had a proper music video. Overall I think Side A has more enjoyable songs but Side B is better sonically/ Production wise.
Apr 12, 2022 Side B's weakest songs >>>>>> Side A's horrible ones that ruin the album Those Kinda Nights, In Too Deep, Stepdad, Marsh and Little Engine gotta go imo he should have replaced them with something a bit more serious and less corny.
Apr 12, 2022 He's way too old for that s---, and TKN should have been a leftover. In Too Deep is also mad corny. Side A also has great stuff though.
May 16, 2022 Premonition >>>>> What a f---ing track! Gotta be my fav from both Side A and Side B Right up there with “The Ringer” maybe even better. He just destroys everyone.
May 16, 2022 people always talked about jay-z not being able to execute a good double album with blueprint 2 but i seriously think that one was better than this. i'd much prefer if this just had the best 12 songs and was short like kamikaze. kamikaze to me is easily top 5 or 6 out of all his albums.
May 16, 2022 Side B writing and puns is terrible. Way worse than Recovery. Which is weird as Side A has some of his best writing to date.
