May 6, 2022 Weird but interesting episode. Some mentioned the slower pacing and this was the first time I really noticed it though. There are only 2 episodes left now btw.
May 6, 2022 I actually visited the wikipedia page from the show and noticed that they're airing some episodes out of order. I had the feeling that there won't be an important overall plot this season and I might be right. Maybe something big will happen in the last episode, but I'm not expecting too much of the next one.
May 7, 2022 Production code doesn't necessarily mean they're out of order—it's just the order they created/started working on them basically and in this season there's a bunch of bottle episodes so it doesn't really matter what order they do a lot of them in. They probably decided to switch the order of some of them later in production or even after they were finished. Like the most recent episode is episode 3 in production order and even if it focuses on the main characters, it's still mostly a bottle episode that could have aired at any point in the season after the ep e that establishes the fact that they're in @Michael Myers land/europe. I guess it's true that they're jumping around Europe and in this ep they're back in Amsterdam but tours often go back and forth between countries depending on scheduling. Makes sense that this was originally ep 3 and they later decided to change it Most recent ep kinda a culmination of the anxiety/unsettling nature of the season so it makes sense as a late-season ep imo.
May 7, 2022 Anyway I think this season is great for the most part. There's an ep or two I didn't looooove, but even so I appreciate the fact that they're allowed the creative control to be as out there as they want.
May 21, 2022 wow this season s----d. I didn't mind the side stories as long as the main one went somewhere. wtf even was that finale?
May 22, 2022 Both Terrare & rich wigga poor wigga were some fantastic and absolutely necessary television Tv that needed to be made, perfect way to sum up this whole third season, s--- was immaculate
May 22, 2022 so yeah this was a mixed bag. I still respect the series a lot for their bold moves but it just didnt work as well this time.. idk exactly why. I.E. the finale, I liked the concept, that it was Van focused and all, but it was just too much sometimes, even annoying. I liked the slight surrealism from the first season, but this episode felt almost like a cartoon with the baguette, the hands.. idk. Also i think that the European setting has been completely underused. Paris and France are great examples of European blackness, the ghettos, the hip hop scene is super big there too.. it was a nice chance to amplify the vision, but i felt that they just saw Europe as a privileged, posh place, as if blacks, arabs, asians, etc dont exist there.
May 22, 2022 The first ep was really good but he basically spent the rest of the season trying to hammer watered down versions of the same message he was making with it. I thought the rich wigga poor wigga episode was decent but was hoping for a better commentary on class than we ultimately got. It’s hard not to feel robbed of the amazing characters they created and the incredible actors that play them, season feels like mostly a waste sadly.
May 24, 2022 Rich wigga, poor wigga was great and the episode being in black and white was the icing on the cake. Tarrare on the other hand was RIDICILOUS, like almost jumping-the-shark-bad. I pressed fast-forward during the middle part, because it was that akward.
May 24, 2022 White Earn aka the guy from EP 1 in the boat and the guy from whatever EP where he shot himself in the pool
May 25, 2022 yeah i saw that but its like... so what? lol it represents the whitness of Earn (and Glover)?
May 25, 2022 compare it to the s2 finale, the gun at the airport... or s1 finale, the jacket.. that was good stuff
