I lied? How? I am armed. I am a teacher. I do support teachers in classrooms being armed.

How is a .380 going to help you with someone wearing Kevlar (or even a heavy jacket)... why wouldn't you go with a Taurus Judge (a gun specifically invented for this situation) loaded with 5 rounds of .410 triple buck?

    I really don’t think it’s speculation at this point…

Agreed...but again, the entirety is that you were speaking in definitives without having a definitive backing and then proceeded to acknowledge that your fact was based on unconfirmed reports & speculation. That bothered me because you can't claim fact without fact.

Cops for the most part are dumb p-----s. It was common practice for Law Enforcement Departments to test potential police cadets for IQ and if they scored too high they would be automatically disqualified for police academy.

They aren't bright and they are scared of everything... they have less courage tha an average person.

Slyk…I appreciate you but come on…lol. Everyone in this thread was reacting to unconfirmed reports of what was happening in real time. Like, we can focus on the semantics of what I knew to be true at the time or focus on the fact that police allowed a mass shooter to massacre children for up to an hour while they stood outside & put parents in handcuffs. One of these is way more worthy of discussion imo.

That the police failed to do their job is fact not speculation. Also, considering they apparently weren't even hurt, the claim that they idly stood by as the kid entered the school is hardly hyperbole.

That said, if they had done their job they'd still be getting criticized by the same people for using excessive force, and maybe even fired. That might explain their hesitancy here. (See, this is the part that's speculative.)

This is tiresome. Legitimately the only thing I've said through the entirety is that a definitive was spoken despite there not having been facts to support it. Like...that's it entirely. Somehow, that's been a tough comment to take and continues to derail (I'm also at fault for this because I continue to reply).

I can say with a lot of confidence that I don’t think anyone would be criticizing police of excessive force had they shot & killed the gunman prior to entering the school.

Even for killing a minority with his whole life ahead of him? Somehow doubtful. Cf. the outrage among certain groups over the technically "justified" police killing of gun-waving Adam Toledo (I use quotes because I question the existence of justice in an objective sense).

Police are d---ed if they do and d---ed if they don't, though perhaps rightly so.

    Adam Toledo followed police instructions.

    There wasn't very much outrage

Pretty sure the cop that shot him to death is still a cop.

The police were brave enough to detain concerned parents from going into the school to save their children.

You seem to be making two different arguments here. Maybe straighten out your thinking before replying next time, Sam.

    I promise you
You seem to be making the argument that the cops were like "normally we'd take our chances against a guy with an AR and seven extended magazines to protect someone else's children... if, he was lilly white... but that kid seemed kinda brown... and it's not worth the risk of Shaun King dunking on us and getting a lot of likes and retweets."

Not necessarily. Maybe they were just cowards, though you don't seem to think so.

Not everyone is so empathetic towards police though. Some think they're all guilty just for becoming cops in this day and age, and would have them all liquidated if they could. So the idea that no one would be criticizing them had they stopped Ramos is obviously not true.

    Are you a cop?

Let me put it to you this way... if a 60 year old black lesbian went into that school waving a boxcutter around... one of those cops would have blown her brains out... and the town's Boss Hogg mayor would have gave him a medal for that.

Far from it. I actually wonder if the anarchists and "abolish the police" activists are right. One thing's for sure though, those who put "civil liberties" above police safety while defending cops in certain situations seem confused to me. Pick a f---ing side.

Yeah... what is up with these defund the police people?

It's like they don't think tax payer money should go to murdering unarmed people in broad day light... AND don't want tax payer money going to worthless cops that let massacres happen.

    Talk about inconsistencies.

The cops are clear in their stances that they want to be above the law and k--- whoever they want for whatever reason they want... and they rather not do anything dangerous and they want a paycheck and benefits and a really cool car to cruise around in.
