I thought the first 75% of the ep was great, but def a little bummed by the remaining 25%.

Show was always about these two conflicting identities inside him until he let Saul completely corrupt and overtake him during breaking bad era. And I like the implication that he accepted that these identities weren't distinct identities and more just two pieces of himself that were always part of him and it's up to him to keep them in balance.

So I like the sentiment of the ending in theory where he takes responsibility for Saul — but it was executed in a pretty cheesy way. Def disappointing.

Penultimate episode was still fantastic tho as was the majority of the season

Yeah the BB ending is one of the greatest tv endings I've ever seen but some people still hated it when it aired, can't believe anyone thought Walter was gonna get away with it LOL

Pretty satisfied with the ending and think that’s what they was going for, a content ending. The typical theories or dramatised Endings would have definitely split the fanbase. I think they have this ‘ hmmm, ok, cool’ ending. Like someone said as well, it was good he identified his personalities and owned them. Kim’s arc was set up for a series of her own though one day in the future, which I’m not a fan of. I think it would have been better if she had a tragic ending than how her arc finished but overall this series has been amazing and sad it has ended.

At least it's "over". Nothing worse than not getting closure. 7 years Vs life may have given the impression of not getting closure.

Corniest thing was the inmates chanting but it's not completely irrelevant, after all he was the criminals lawyer.

I kinda called part of it earlier on in the season; Kim being there at the end and him putting on a show for her benefit for one last hurrah.

I really hope we don't get a Kim spin off though, she's just too boring. I just couldn't deal with another show that's as slow or slower than this one. Salamancas though....

I agree with y'all. I mean I get what they were going for, but I didn't like that ending neither.

I'm actually glad that it's over. I don't know if I would've been excited about another episode, I think it was time to wrap it up.

Yeah, c'mon Simpin Saul. For a few minutes there I had high hopes for a deliciously cynical ending when it seemed like he was going to snitch on Kim, only for them to be stubbed out like a cigarette under her stiletto as soon as he started giving that lame confession speech for her. It's such a shame too. "You don't understand, it's really good ice cream" could have been a classic line, said with the same cheerful indifference as "Well that's your cross to bear" to Howard. I feel robbed. Betrayed even.

I’m satisfied. A bit cheesy, but I’m satisfied.

his last hoorah in the courtroom was great. Prison bus chant was a bit weird.

I will say I’m glad they didn’t go the “one last kiss” route. When Kim looks out the door window to see if anyone is watching in the interrogation room I thought for sure it was going that direction.

And honestly, I’m glad neither of them died. I think it wraps up the show nicely. It’s just another transformation of the character. We saw Slippin Jimmy turn into Jimmy McGill, attorney at law. Then from Jimmy to Saul Goodman, the criminal lawyer. To Gene the depressed Cinnabon manager, once again to Jimmy McGill, but grown. I’m glad he took responsibility, and I’m glad he was able to have his moment with Kim.

was this an ending comparable to BB? Not even close. It’s not even close to the best episode of the season. But, I did still enjoy it and I was still kind of on the edge of my seat when Saul implied he was going to completely throw Kim under the bus to save himself.

While I don't think Kim needs her own show, she's absolutely not a boring character lol. Kim had a great arc, loved it even more when I started to rewatch prior to season 6 (only got to midway thru s4 tho)

Surely they could have put their brains together and come up with a logical reason Saul would have taken the life sentence so that Kim wouldn’t go to jail, the way they did it was just corny tv bs

^ There is no thinkable logical reason in terms of self-interest, but an obvious logical explanation is that he gave in to the sting of the social conscience. That and a foolish desire to believe in love. In other words he lost his nerve.

There definitely is, I’m talking about in terms of completely re-writing the last 2 episodes to do this instead of them both just being like “oh darn i feel bad i need to throw my life away to come clean”

I read an article last week and one of the sentences was: "Better Call Saul is a show about someone who simply won't change."

...Well, he finally had a change of heart.

To each their own. I found her boring but no denying she played the character to perfection. Maybe if I watch again at a faster pace I'll find her more entertaining.

But how long for? We saw him change from Jimmy, to Saul, to Gene and then from Gene back to Saul and back to Jimmy. I'm sure it won't take long for him to get the Saul urge again.

Walt should have died, Saul should have changed his identity and escaped and Junkie Jessie the snitch should have gotten life.
