Jan 31, 2023 @Worm suggested that a thread for this show needed to be made, and I agree. It’s incredible how this show keeps knocking it out of the park each episode. I haven’t seen a show get this many positive reviews and actually live up to the hype in a long a--- time. There should be much to discuss since the episodes are so long. Episode 3 has some people upset lol
Jan 31, 2023 I was skeptical when they said they were making this a show. The game was so sick, especially the opening scene. I didn't think they'd be able to recreate it as good as it was, but they made it better. They're still following the games playbook while adding much more to the story. Third episode I was getting annoyed at since I felt it was filler, until you got to Bills note. Episode was really well done. Hoping they can keep this up for the rest of the season. Pedro Pascal is great, Bella Ramsey isn't bad but I think they could have casted better there. Tess actress was also a great pick #RIP They just got renewed for a 2nd season and if you played the 2nd game... Spoiler Joel dies in the beginning. The 2nd game kinda s----d overall and wasn't really a great story, so hoping they deviate from that and make it their own and keep him alive. The show won't stand on it's legs without him
Jan 31, 2023 Same. Adapting video games to movies and TV shows has a rocky history. The most recent example I can think of is the Halo show… that s--- s----d from all I heard. This show is a pleasant surprise. Adding things to an established story can end up being controversial, but they’re doing a wonderful job here for sure. I remember after episode 3 in the “look behind the show” seeing one of the people working on it say something like they only make the changes when it’s better than the game story. If the change is the same or worse, they won’t do it. Hearing something like that is good news, and so far they have good judgement on that. I also thought it was filler at first… I was thinking to myself, “Really? We’re going to spend an hour on these two?” But then it all starts to make sense, and it actually ends up being a compelling romance story that is relevant to the show. The people upset at a gay relationship are just being ridiculous at this point.

Feb 3, 2023 I don’t think anyone here really played the 2nd game. The last of us feels like a resident evil 4 and 5 demo. The games are awful.
