    Team Geezer myself I'm 37

My first real intro to eminem was on my friends sister's Dr.Dre 2001 album. We'd listen to it all the time at his house and play ball hockey and basketball in the driveway with it blaring. Then I convinced my parents to buy me the MMLP and my dad took it away from me lol then a week later he gave it back and asked if my friend that had a CD Burner would make him a copy lol

Mac Lethal said on his tour with D12 last year, they claim Eminem saw Tom McDonald’s Dear Slim Music video. Allegedly Eminem cringed and turned it off after 30 seconds! This is the first confirmation that Eminem don’t f--- with Tom McDonald and thinks he is a corny poser

Also Eminem is now up to 81M monthly listeners. About to pass Ariana Grande this week to be the 6th biggest artist on Spotify

The first few albums you experience as a kid are definitely the most memorable. They just hit different.

TES was really something special to hear for the first time. That and 8 Mile.

Rip to those whose first album was Revival.

He is flowing and it's clearly from his MTBMB days but I hope he is done with this kind of delivery

It’s not completely terrible but it’s very mediocre and close to being bad. Structurally the song is all over the place. There’s some cool wordplay and all that but I’m not a fan of Eminem’s monotone delivery on most of the track. One could say it contrasts with LL’s more energetic performance, but I think it more so just showcases that Eminem’s boring cadence brings the energy down despite being spit quickly. LL’s verses were forgettable and corny.

This song goes in one ear and out the other. I don’t feel the need to ever listen to this again. It’s mostly just a bunch of word vomit under the thin veil of “lyricism”.

I was 7 and heard My Name is on the radio. My mom turned it off cuz she heard him talking about impregnating the Spice girls. Then I went to school and a few weeks later all kids in my class were dressing like him, and saying Chika Chika Slim Shady. Thats when he started to really blow up, and it was inescapable. Then about 3 years later I entered Middle School. I lived in the Southside of Chicago, in like a s-----y hood but my mom was tired of the violence so she made me go to a southwest suburban school. And that’s when I realized how massive Eminem truly was. Like I remember it to this day. Anyways, my best friend stole his brothers Eminem Show Album. We would burn the song on CD’s blank so our parents didn’t know we had Eminem in our players. I be jamming to it at basketball practice and on the bus. My mom eventually got use to me listening to Eminem as I grew up. When Recovery came out, I was finally of age to like actually appreciate the literary skills and depth. Rock Bottom & Sing for the moment struck a chord with me ever since I was a kid. And recovery got me through my Emo teen years. So it’s incredible how Shady is still out here impacting lives and having a global hit in 2024. You don’t realize how much time passes, and how many verses he wrote that still resonates 20 years later.
