Jun 20, 2024 This is a b-----r lads. The opening top 5 are hard to beat; placement considered throughout - opening with the overly iconic but also down and dirty, grimey NY State of Mind, bursting open into SIMON SAYS GET THE f--- UP! Aka let's get this s--- started, tumbling into the matching madness of Ain't It Funny etc. Also 'I Can' topical follow-up after Ill Mind 5, but musically then the piano folding into that of 'Patriots'. I wish Em considered track placement in this way aka musical placement; tracks working together musically, rarher than just conceptual, i.e. like him saying 'Need Me' might give people a break. Well, okay, but it's like 7 minutes of f---ing Pink singing, after 'Offended' dawg. Bizarre. Anyway, you can listen to / Save the Playlist here (Spotiify) if you like. Obviously lots of iconic and obvious s--- left off, but this isn't 'top 30 most iconic rap tracks', just a curated; certain vibes of rap that I wanna hear. With Em kept to a minimum here. Just bc. Note also 'Halftime' at exactly half-time :P and 'Kurt Kobain' prior to and ending on 'Balad of a Dead Soulja', trust me boys, this is a b-----r, slam it on and get in a flowstate, trussst.
Jun 21, 2024 Pretty cool list but those are literally the last 2 kanye songs I'd put on any list except some of the poopidiscoop s--- maybe
Jun 21, 2024 Don't get me wrong they're not my fave Kanye songs. Ofc jesus walks, homecoming... Good morning, flashing lights, gorgeous, so many... But just the way this opens up, they spoke to me. Lmao. For the vibe, next to Simon says and ain't it funny
