Jul 12, 2024 Full review coming soon but... The Production: top notch. Sounds classy and all in-tune throughout. Everything works and nothing sticks out jarringly, amazingly considering he made this over years... but you can tell he stayed to a specific style of rapping throughout, which I'm so f---ing happy he did. Which, brings me onto... The Raping: (did he just say rapping but without a p? yep!): legit some of his best rapping ever. And new levels of delivery... flow, rhyming, everything; he is definitely the GOAT of... word fuckery. Who tf else can do this? Even Kendrick n s---, he could prolly imittate it with practice, but, this is levels above in parts... levels above ANYONE. It also sounds like what MMLP2 shoulda been. The voice and flows remind of MMLP bc he's kind of... not talking, but kind of, has variance in his tonality as if he was talking, like on MMLP, has space between his words... it's not all intense or forcibly slowwwww likkkeee trynnna acttt chill. It's just... funky, intense in parts, but well restrained without feeling forcibly restrained... I think part of it is the rhyming too, how the rhymes are close together a lot... like: Child endangerment, dark brain arcane, but it Mark Twainin’ it You aren’t tamin’ it, sharp pain in the heart Aimin’ a bar, chamber to carve names in it Start sprayin’ and start ravin’ on beef, starved, cravin’ it It's them sounds... close together, that gives this slicey 'FAME / BLAME CANIN BLAMNIN IT ' etc. sounds fkn dope. Rather than like... predictably lined-up multies he was doing recently. These are multies obviously but, it feels less predictable some how. But yeah... I mean... some of his rapping man... The second half of 'Fuel'? Whewwwwwwww. This is definitely his best tonality - crisp, clear, everything is razoooooorr sharp and it's like he's just f---ing... words are just cascading and crashing at a speed which is impressive but still musical and rhythmic and not annoying @ fast-rap. His Humour: again, MMLP-level in parts. Genuinely witty, mocking societal s---... tbf I think MMLP3 woulda been a better title. The content and vibe are 100% it. The whole killing shady thing is not as tight as people making out imo. Yeah, a few skits, mentions, moments and 'Guilty Conscience 2' etc. but, he's basically just doing his usual s---... of talking s--- and analysing himself and going back and forth... and he even raps like Shady on 'Bad One', after supposedly 'killing Shady'. But yeah, back to the humour... Wait a minute, which R-word? r--- or r-----ed, midget? (Not cool, guys) Would this rhyme be okay if South Park had did it? (Okay, screw you guys) Would it make you less angry if Cartman spit it? (Goddammit) And as far as what I just stated, regarding midgets You'll probably think I'll just say that I'm playin', I'm not, I meant it (Yeah) Swear to God I see one of them little f---ers come at me I'll pick it up by its legs and drop it and kick it Classic s---. Again, MMLP-esque where he'd say stupid s--- but dead-a--- serious. And also like, confronting you like 'nah I'm not joking' but in a very direct way and detail further. s---'s dope. Also, the deaf voice bit on Guilty Conscience 2, bruhhhh lmfaooooo. Cracked me up. This n----- a voice artist, s---'s hilarious. -- All the songs are dope. Sequenced beautifully, all flow into each other... even 'Brand New Dance', which at least in parts is from 04 - surprised it doesn't stick out, and works musically, it's also a f---ing jam. And hilarious, just bc it's so stupid and beating a dead horse beyond dead... My only real gripes, are... - I wish there was maybe... 1 or 2 more acutal ideas, like, concepts - stories or something. And, I think two more Hailie songs was a bit much. Like, breh, you just did - In Your Head, Castle, Arose... how many times you finna say the same s--- about Hailie. But, don't get me wrong... they're good songs, especially 'Temporary', and I'm fkn amazed how well they put that together, how tasteful it sounds vs. Skylar n Em's usual corny s---. But, overall, super happy with all the elements of it, all the songs, all the rapping, the production, the hooks... the vibe... the humour, everything. I think crticis will just be divisive bc of the content, so predictably; left-leaning mags will rate it like 1-2/5 n s--- n just be like 'oh, he's so lame mentioning trans stuff' etc. .. As if a review is suppsoed to be 'how much do I agree with the things said out of 5'... like, bro, nobody cares about your fkn opinions; rate the execution, Like, Black on Both Sides is one of my favorite albums. And it's racist asf. And I disagree with most the s--- he says. But it's a fkn great album... don't downrate s--- I disagree with how stupid. So, overall, for me, and I'm only on about my 4th listen but... I'ma like... 8/10 and... it might end up in his top 4 to me. My predictions (guesses) about everything were p close too... - I thought he was basically giving us red-herring styles with Realest and Lace It n s---. He doesn't really rap like that on the album at all if you listen. I think he didn't wanna show his hand, same reason he put Houdini and Tobey out. Not giving anything away style-wise really. - Said he would k--- Shady tracks 12-14... which, he did, on 13 obviously on GC2. Made sense really, he had to because... I thought he would start off 'being shady' and go bat s--- for most the album as he did, but then in Houdini vid - he chases Shady and they merge, so, seemed obvious he was gonna go back n forth on GC2 and then k--- him, and Tobey was 17 so... had to be like 'eminem songs' between that. I did think 'Somebody Save Me' would be like Em or Shady in h--- though, never woulda guessed a Hailie song, but, there ya go. Also, not ONE pointless f---ing love song. I can't believe it. Or any pop s---. Like Jelly Roll's and even Skylar's (amazingly) hooks are classy and work, with the production, it all sounds as one.
