So, I think if he really wants this reaction he thought he would get - if he released some of the album cuts i.e. AntiChrist as a single with vid then it probably would hit. But he won't. Even though that'd be fire, AntiChrist especially - s---'s catchy af, and imagine like lil choir kids singing MARSHALL etc. with devlish imagery >>

Jul 23, 2024 American culture is a lot more tolerant of "Satanic" lyrics these days. Remember that Gnat got a music video and one of the first lines of that song was about killing kids. I'm pretty sure no one cared, even though those lyrics are pretty disgusting tbh, and completely gratuitous (he's not even doing the Slim Shady character in that song). If he wanted to turn parents into picketers so to speak he'd have to push certain other buttons which he barely tapped on this album.

But, I was saying Antichrist for example just due to how he starts off with the pronouns s---, then also the Diddy / Cassie line. Those would probably / the Diddy line mostly would probably get a reaction, especially with a visual. But yeah he barely grazed topics. Missed opportunity considering how long he apparently worked on this, like he clearly thought a lot about it... I just think he doesn't have anything interesting to say on half of it... Like that line in Criminal, "Relax guy, I like gay men" which he referred to a few times in interviews in 2000 as proof that he's not a bigot, performing with Elton John, etc. But I always took it less as him apologizing as signaling that his homophobic lyrics weren't politically motivated. This came through most clearly in TRSS when he said "But if we can hump dead animals and antelopes then there's no reason that a man and another man can't elope (eugh)". These days though he's definitely more cucked. When he apologized for saying "fa----" on Kamikaze that was the real death of Slim Shady for me. I still think it's funny just because of how random it is, even desperate, like he's scraping the bottom of the barrel for controversial things to say. As self-aware and deliberate "flanderization" it kinda works. Also the word "midget" never gets old.
