Jul 26, 2024 Relistening to DOSS. Still feels perfect. At this point, I'm kinda more confused by the ending of the album. In the end of GC2, it seemed like Shady died but in Temporary it kinda felt like maybe Em died and that's why we hear a song dedicated to Hailie as if he is dead. He even says: "Yeah, so Hailie Jade, I wrote you this song To help you cope with life now that I'm gone" he says now that he is gone. He is gone in the Death of Slim Shady storyline. In Somebody Save Me, it almost feels like we are back to 07 again. Like Em never got clean by the drugs. They say it's an alternate reality but remember how Shady came back thru a time portal. Maybe somehow Em ended up in the time portal to 07 and he is struggling to re-survive in the end. Tobey only helps this theory of Shady actually killed or maybe sent Em back to 07 with the time portal, as we see Em in jason mask coming and killing off himself, it's prob Shady being represented in the mask. If we try to look this as Shady and Marshall being different sides and personalities of Em and whole album is him battling himself inside of his mind which is probably the thing, it makes even more sense. After GC2 Em feels like he overcame Shady's influence but somehow feels weak we hear him almost like saying a farewell to his daughter on Temporary, probably he has a hunch or something about Shady not being killed off. In Somebody Save Me he acknowledges Shady is inside his head and he never can get rid off it. The whole concept of him rapping as if he never came clean off drugs makes perfect sense considering he kinda implied that drugs were almost like the reason of Shady being existed in the first place. I don't know how to put it in the words properly. I probably would have a hard time doing that in my native language but this album really might be a masterpiece after all, pulling off such an amazing concept of a story, very philosophical, very deep while being very pleasing sonically in every aspect.
