    actually mad how J. Cole seems to finally be becoming the rapper we all knew he could be. the potential from those 3 mixtapes is becoming realised. i'm still skeptical about this 'fall off' album being as good as he says, but man, he's really demonstrated he has the ability in recent times. mainly on features really, but yeah lol. wasn't really a fan of his last album unfortunately, but i have a feeling he's got a lot of really good music coming.

    Finally listened to Port Antonio, woah!!! It’s amazing. Now that I finally heard it for myself, I think people are hating and trying to create false narratives to reignite a beef

    Fantano said Cole is in an even worse spot now and that he has released some of his worst features since the beef. I’ll give him Grippy, but that is it. How is Cole in a worse spot after giving us honest and sincere bars?

    It also blows my mind that people still don’t understand that Cole is friends with Kendrick and Drake and that’s why Cole’s heart wasn’t in the beef. He didn’t want it to get ugly and lose his friends. And of course Cole will defend his pen and be confident he’s still a great rapper. Against those who aren’t his friends he would gladly battle them. And in general he still competes with any rapper out there by showcasing his pen and flows on tracks. To think Cole is scared to compete with anyone is crazy and a huge stretch just because he got out of a beef with a friend that turned into a circus.

    I think you gotta remember that people like Fantano derive a lot of esteem from being tastemakers. And Cole’s continued popularity is a reminder that their opinion just isn’t that important.

    I like Cole, but he's trying really hard to sound like he took the high road in this beef, when he very much didn't. He just backed out and apologized, which is very different. I could have done with more honesty from him about taking those shots and regretting it, because it does sound like he wants to sweep that bit under the rug.

    People are reaching for narratives if they think there are shots here though. What? Was he too friendly to Drake, so that's a Kendrick diss? Nuts.

    In summary, Cole is friends with Kendrick and didn’t want things to get personal and ugly between them because their friendship is more important to him than engaging in the beef. Kendrick and Drake don’t like each other and were okay with getting personal and going at each others throats. Cole wasn’t about it. The end. Nothing more to say. Time to move on.

    Yall seen where punch from tde came out and said pi was recorded months before like that, and it wasn’t no shots at Kendrick?? I never understood the pi s--- anyway, people keep saying he dissed Kendrick with the trans line, just because Kendrick mentioned his trans uncle on Mr morale lol, that s--- don’t even correlate to each other, n----s is crazy as h---.. I just took the line as he saying his competition is p----, and acting tough, competition as whoever, not a specific person.. if anything, when he said “his album was trash I liter it like I can’t spell it” was a shot only because he did call me morale trash on 7 minute drill lol, and even then we don’t know exactly when pi was recorded , that s--- could’ve been recorded before Mr morale drop with the way punch and daylyt saying that s--- been in the vault…

    then on the new song they saying he took a shot with the line (I wouldn’t have lost a battle , I would’ve lost a bruh ) lol, I ain’t take it as a shot when I heard it, I just thought he was saying win or lose , it could’ve went either way , n----s was saying oh he saying he would’ve beat Kendrick , these mfs crazy lol, out here trying to breakdown lyrics but can barely comprehend the s---
