Nov 23, 2024 at 1:33 PM Brotha Lynch Hung - Mannibalector Horrorcore is a genre that I know little to nothing about. Aside from early Em and Tyler, the only horrorcore I've listened to is the Insane Clown Posse (They're Not That Bad!!!). Well, there's also this song by Necro called "p---- Is My Weakness" which technically counts I guess. I'd definitely heard about Brotha Lynch Hung (gonna call him BLH for the rest of the review) but I had never checked out any song from him before. All I knew about this album going in was that he was signed to Tech N9ne's Strange Music when this album dropped and the fact that the cover looks spoooky. And it's fine. I didn't hate it, but I can't act like I loved it either. BLH has a pretty cool voice, but his lyrics didn't really do much for me. After a while the r--- and cannibalism lyrics just kinda got repetitive after a bit. The other featured rappers were okay, but Tech N9ne was definitely a standout. What I will say though, is that this album has some very good production. "Stabbed" and "Dead b----" were standouts. Even though I said that the album was just fine... I gotta admit. I f---ing LOVE "Something About Susan" . It was surprisingly vibey despite the lyrics and I think it's honestly great. High point of the album for me personally. And yeah, that's about it really. SAS is definitely going into my playlist, and i might check out his earlier stuff. Favorites: Disappeared, Something About Susan (f---ing PEAK), Stabbed, Dead b---- Rating: 6/10 @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau

Nov 23, 2024 at 3:00 PM @AOTWClub Brotha Lynch Hung - Mannibalector The album was great, I really enjoyed the horror themed vibe throughout. I'm usually skeptical of albums with 20 or more tracks but this one maintained solid quality without too much filler. The middle section stood out the most to me and had some of the strongest moments. Normally, I’m not a fan of skits, but The River was good. Something about Susan is a really catchy tune and the ending was funny also. Ay bro, what you doin? Talkin to my girl Ni**a she dead No she ain’t Yes she is No she ain’t Yes she i No she ain’t... Favorite songs: Something About Susan, Disappeared, Can I Have a Napkin, Meat Cleaver, I Give Up 8/10

Nov 23, 2024 at 11:22 PM Mannibalector - Brotha Lynch Hung REVIEW Score: 7.5 Review: I'll be honest, I did not like the first full song Krocadil and I thought I would hate this album, but honestly after that I enjoyed every track enough to throw a like on it. The rapping was great and the production was phenomenal (side note: the track with Yela you could tell that BLH heard that beat and instantly thought of him, it sounds ripped straight out of the OG Trunk Muzik s--- or Radioactive), but the album did not hit for me like I expected it to. Maybe I just went in with bigger expectations than I thought. I agree with @Ripper Roo that it got a bit repetitive at points, but if a bad rapper were to do this, it would've been an awful execution. Still a good listen and it really makes me want to check out his stuff from the 90's, I'll probably be more into that than this album. Nov 24, 2024 at 5:07 PM Mannibalector - Brotha Lynch Hung review Mannibalector is a solid album if you’re into dark, horror-themed rap. Brotha Lynch Hung leans all the way into the cinematic storytelling, and his attention to detail is undeniable. Tracks like “Meat Cleaver” and “Sweeney Todd” are vivid and intense, they really pull you into the twisted world of this album. The production matches the vibe perfectly—eerie, moody, and polished. Some of these beats are truly insane and are a big part of why I enjoyed the album. But, in spite of the great sounding tracks, Brother Lynch Hung is still the one who is in command of the songs. And he shows up almost all of the time. The dude’s flow is butter. That said, the album can feel a bit one-dimensional at times. The gruesome themes are Lynch’s thing, no doubt, but they don’t always leave room for much else. Some tracks kind of blur together because of the heavy focus on shock value, which may just be the reason why I believe this project would benefit from a bit of a trim. If it was a bit more concise and focused tracklist wise, the album would be a great hallmark of experimental rap (excuse me if it already is, perhaps im just slightly delusional). Also, theres something about Tech N9ne that makes him unlistenable to me. I understand all his qualities and why people would listen, but I can’t wrap my head around his music smh. Also Hopsin’s verse on that song wasn’t necessary at all, the crowd fr went mild. I’ll end by saying that Lynch knows his craft, and it’s clear he’s putting in work to, despite how ambitious and long it be: to create a cohesive project. I personally added Meat Cleaver, Sweeney Todd, and I Give Up to a couple of very chaotic tracklists. Decent album overall. I always love to see all the various directions a genre can take. Honestly, not many modern rappers try their luck with a style so eclectic. I definitely respect it. 6.5/10 @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau
Nov 24, 2024 at 5:17 PM Kendrick Lamar gnx Fun lil teaser project. Can tell it was mostly written since the drake beef. He's flexing a lot of new flows and his bars are A1. But overall the song structures / song writing is average and what you would expect from a side project. Looking forward to the real album. My fav part was heart part 6 where he confirmed Ab-Soul is the goat. 6.5/10 for now but could grow on me @Justin Trudeau
