Jan 17, 2025 I know there has to be more s--- from Recovery where he has this weird half accent half recovery s---
Jan 17, 2025 I think he started doing this idea of taking songs that are 4+ years old and putting them on his next album from Revival to now. It does make you wonder how old are songs like: “I Will” - classic hook, but Budden said he remembers this beat and hook, he stopped rapping in 2015, so this is at least 5 years old “Castles” - when I heard this it was like wtf, if he can still sound like this delivery wise why did he rap like crap the rest of the album? Chances are it’s an old track. Some other questionable or confirmed ones are “Stepping Stones” “Discombobulated”
Jan 17, 2025 Literally what the f--- are you talking about? Antichrist hook Reminiscence first 30 seconds Brand New Dance - which is even acknowledged in the album as an old song okay? Anything else? Y’all overreacting. You’re telling me he can’t use beats we haven’t heard too? Would you be disappointed if a beat on relapse was made in 2002? He might take a rhyme scheme from an unused piece of work (that we weren’t even supposed to hear) but it’s not like he’s taking whole songs and pretending they’re new. He wrote it, he can do whatever he wants with it. Em fans can be so entitled sometimes
Jan 17, 2025 He even rewrote the f---ing is this love song before releasing it and he still labeled it 09 Underground had parts of GOAT No Apologies had a verse from 2002 but nobody complained about that
Jan 17, 2025 Chill, I'm just saying I thought he really was writing s--- like before (especially hooks, at least Fuel seems to be new) in TDOSS but I'm not mad or anything that the s---'s older than I thought, that's all, idgaf if he recycles unreleased material, it's better than never being able to listen to it
Jan 17, 2025 There’s one old hook on DOSS. and discombobulated hook he said was old in that podcast he did 90% of DOSS is new material but you word it like it’s the opposite.
Jan 17, 2025 then I might not be expressing myself properly, what I tried to say is that the s--- that sounded like way back in the day the most (except BND, that was obviously an old song from the get go) made me think that he could still sound like that naturally, back when it first released and we didn't know what was AI, what was old, what wasn't, etc.
Jan 17, 2025 One that we know of only because of this leak. And I'm not trying to be negative. I love Eminem and I love modern Eminem and I love DOSS. I was just thinking aloud
Jan 17, 2025 there's no f---ing chance Marshall Powers is the Kamikaze song that went too far... raping himself was no good but calling Tyler a fa---- wasn't an issue lol
Jan 17, 2025 I think that in a 25-year career it is normal to have so much material available to be able to use it in new projects. And they talk about it as if Eminem is the only artist in the hip hop scene who does things like this. Fishing out some beats or reworking some tracks in order to insert them into a more suitable context than they might have been in the past in other projects does not make it a recycling nor does it discredit the artist's abilities. It's like preserving a good wine and deciding to consume it at the right time and on the right occasion.
Jan 17, 2025 Where and why did the rumor that Marshall Powers is the Kamikaze song that went too far even start tho?
Jan 17, 2025 I saw a comment on the r/HipHopHeads saying that but there's no actual solid evidence it is
