Mar 14, 2025 at 9:18 PM would rather have multiple ab-soul features than a travis feature in all seriousness, Trav's features are almost all complete dogshit tho I did like him on Type s--- last year
Mar 14, 2025 at 9:22 PM I usually don't like Travis features, but I think he pairs well with Carti most of the time.
Mar 14, 2025 at 9:26 PM I haven't minded him on most carti songs but he was just on here too much for me
Mar 14, 2025 at 10:28 PM agreed..almost feel like he tried to remake rockstar made with pop out but ts so messy
Mar 14, 2025 at 10:39 PM this is my exact opinion, word for word it’s not better than WLR..frankly he took way too much time off and with the stark contrasts between all his projects, i can’t help but feel like HE felt like he needed to push the genre forward again but it’s not as focused he has more songs than last time which makes me feel he didn’t know what was going to work, hence him saying just now he’s already ready to drop another album..not usually good when an artist says that too soon, let alone the day before the album drop the features were hidden so when the kendrick record came on, i’m like “oh this a drake beat for SURE” and i bust out laughing when i heard kendrick, the irony..i think it’s purposeful as carti asked to be removed from No Face and wouldn’t be surprised if drake was the original feature lol i thought kendrick did really well though and unlike Kanye (who simultaneously has kendrick write verses for him), felt he was used properly i think Like Weezy is a personal favorite..would love to hear more production like that, love the choir on “shawty wanna let me crush” top 5 like weezy crush wake up filthy toxic fine s---
Mar 14, 2025 at 10:45 PM @DKC dont k--- me bro..just seeing some of your posts..personally i don’t think pop out holds a candle to rockstar made..same abrasiveness but RM feels orderly in a room of chaos whereas pop out inherits the chaos in the room with the lights off also wanna add WLR was a first listen classic for me, really special nostalgia with that album 4 me and still in rotation
Mar 14, 2025 at 10:47 PM Another issue about taking so much time off is that Yeat pretty much stole his lane in the mean time. Now this sound isn't as ground breaking as it could have been.
Mar 14, 2025 at 10:54 PM What I will say is this album definitely didn’t need to be 30 tracks especially with Travis, Kendrick, and Uzi being on multiple tracks lol some of this s--- definitely could’ve been left off. At the same time though I understand the album having so many tracks on it since it’s been 5 years since his last album. Although some of these tracks are less than 2 minutes long so idk
Mar 14, 2025 at 11:01 PM agree and disagree..yeat 100% snatched mad fans lol even when i heard sorry bout that (first song i heard), i was like word, nobody making music like him i don’t think carti’s sound *isnt* groundbreaking but i also don’t think it’s a defined sound..to me it sounds like he went back in the past to mid 2000’s atlanta with a new voice that we haven’t heard from him to keep it fresh
Mar 14, 2025 at 11:10 PM I Don’t mind the Kendrick feats as much because he does something different each time adlibs Chorus Verse As much as I like Crush, I think it could’ve been left off. Idk if it was just me expecting more from the track because I have loved the snippet for the last 3 months (side note wtf??? 3 months since he previewed all that music at RL?? Jesus this year is flying by) but I just expected it to be the big Travis collab of the album. Wake Up Filthy is much better (i loved it when it was a leak, didn’t expect it to be on the album either, and Carti made the released version 10x better so now i really really love it) and Travis doesn’t have enough presence on CHARGE DEM HOES A FEE for it to feel like “too much Travis” I do like how this basically just feels like a mixtape though, but 30 tracks is bound to feel like some bloat, even though I liked 27 of the songs off first listen
Mar 14, 2025 at 11:17 PM You know, WE NEED ALL DA VIBES definitely could’ve been left off. Like that s--- isn’t even a Carti song man I had to look up where his lines were lol
Mar 14, 2025 at 11:20 PM Why he didn’t just make a new song with Thug is beyond me, I do have the song saved tho because it’s a hard a--- Thugger track
Mar 15, 2025 at 2:10 AM nah I'd put Rockstar Made above Pop Out for sure but I love Pop Out, just similar vibes to start off an album. I don't think I'd rank this above WLR either but I'm really into most of it, need to sit with it for a minute
