Apr 2, 2025 at 7:52 AM Yeez - When The Blood Burns… Favorites: La Grasa de las Capitales, Tell Me When You Need It Again Pts 1 & 2, A Tear for Eddie (mmm boobz), Eternal Life, Babylon, The Voice of Love RIPPER ROO’S RATING: 8/10 Let me just get the negatives out of the way right off the bat: Fun House, Waves of Fear, and El borrego just didn’t fully connect with me. They are still good songs but for some reason I just didn’t like them as much as the other songs. On El borrego I wasn’t the biggest fan of the vocal effect. Now onto the positives: I like the usage of instrumental tracks on this mixtape. Silver Morning, A Tear for Eddie, and The Voice of Love are all great tracks despite having no vocals. And with that, the tape starts and ends beautifully. Silver Morning sets the tone with a really unique atmosphere. The Voice of Love is unsettling yet hopeful at the same time and is my most listened to track on the tape. To close out the review, I’ll talk about some other tracks I feel are worth highlighting. La Grasa de las Capitales is probably the best Spanish song I’ve ever heard and is pure ADHD in song format. That song went all sorts of unexpected places. Tell Me When You Need It Again Pts 1 & 2 is just amazing. The passion of Jeff Buckley’s vocals on Eternal Life is really captivating. Babylon is classic Outkast. This is a great tape that has some variety @AOTWClub
Apr 2, 2025 at 12:07 PM I'm glad you enjoyed it!!! When I was finalizing the tracklist, I thought Grasa de las Capitales would be the most divisive, so it's definitely a bit surprising to see that El borrego has been more mixed.
Apr 2, 2025 at 12:12 PM Over time, I slowly started changing the tape to the point that like 75% of the tracks that made it to the end were later additions. These might not be all of them, but these are some of the ones that were on the tape at some point - One of These Days - Pink Floyd - Dirt - Stooges - Karmacoma - Massive Attack - The Same Deep Water As You - The Cure - Ptolemy - Aphex Twin - Ice Cream Man - Tom Waits - The Kindness of Strangers - Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Heaven Beside You - Alice in Chains

Apr 4, 2025 at 3:14 PM @Yeez - When The Blood Burns... REVIEW Score: 8.8 (14/16) A nice range of sounds on this mixtape from Yeez! Starting and ending with instrumental tracks put a nice bow on it all, especially since they both sound like intro and outros, respectively. While mostly rock tracks, the sound still sounded varied and the mix of Outkast towards the end was a nice break in the action. The only tracks I wasn't into was Fun House and El borrego, otherwise I liked every track! I already talked about this earlier, but I like how Yeez includes instrumental tracks in his tapes. It's especially nice on walks and while working on stuff. Great tape Yeez! @AOTWClub Mixtape Madness Round 2 Rankings: 1. Born to Boomer - 10.0 2. When The Blood Burns... - 8.8

Apr 6, 2025 at 4:36 AM g.d. you @Justin Trudeau For having 2 songs I picked (and scrapped eventually lmao) for my last tape and 2 I planned for my next one.
Apr 6, 2025 at 4:38 AM Sorry lol I remember you mentioning werewolves of London but that's a classic and it worked with what I was thinking
Apr 6, 2025 at 12:55 PM You have so many favs of mine in here lol living dead girl pairs perfectly with one of the songs on my tape, as they were both in a movie that I love that introduced me to both songs. @Michael Myers gonna realize immediately when he sees my tracklist hahah
Apr 7, 2025 at 10:05 AM Justin Trudeau - RITE OF EXORCISM Favorites: Witchy Woman, Werewolves of London, Somebody’s Watching Me, He’s Back, Don’t Fear The Reaper RIPPER ROO’S RATING: 7/10 This was a pretty easy review since I’ve heard 90% of these songs already. There’s a bunch of classics on here. I appreciate trying to tell a story with this mixtape. Not a fan of The Devil Went Down to Georgia at all as that song has always annoyed me. I also wasn’t particularly impressed with The Omen either, might be the worst and cringiest DMX song I’ve ever heard. Early hip hop songs like A Nightmare On My Street don’t really do anything for me, the delivery is pretty corny if I’m being honest. Other than that pretty much all these other songs had great instrumentals and vocals. I’ve heard just about all of them throughout my life. I appreciate He’s Back as Jason Voorhees is one of my favs. I don’t have a whole lot to say about this if I’m being completely honest. It’s a good playlist I’m sure most people would like and the attempt at a story is creative. @AOTWClub
Apr 7, 2025 at 11:23 AM @Yeez - When The Blood Burns… review Where Do I even start? This was an insanely good mixtape that I had a ton of fun with in the last week or so of listening. The variety on this tape—whether defined by genre, sound, or country of origin—is d--- impressive. I’d say this is probably the first time non-English songs have been used in this club where I found myself absolutely blown away by them. I did not find myself struggling to grasp any of them, they just worked and immediately struck a chord with me. Turns out good music transcends language. Great opening with beautiful mood-setter from Eno. This song is filled to the brim with really colorful sounds and droney goodness. Brian Eno really is the GOAT. Liked how the song seamlessly bled out into La Grasa de las Capitales, a very weird but extremely cool, punchy and fun track that keeps you engaged throughout. I love the instrumentation and how energetic and loud everything is. The music is only made better by the vocals which offer so much - from shouting, to traditional singing, spoken word (almost rap-like vocals) and that godlike climax with the chorus. I’m not usually that fond of Latin music but this is unlike anything I’ve heard before (admittedly I’ve heard very little). This song transitioned into Fun House which was, to me, one of the only tracks I wasn’t all that into. I get that the Stooges are all about energy and f---ing s--- up, but this song dragged out for a bit too long, IMO. Perhaps it will grow on me with time as I start listening to more of Iggy Pop. Waves of Fear is definitely one of the more unique Lou Reed songs. I really like it and adore his performance on it. Reed is one of my favorite artists ever and songs like this are exactly why that is the case. El Borrego is such a chaotic song. I did not expect this type of bounciness at all. Was driving home from work when I first heard this mixtape and this song made it so that I probably set a personal record of speed. Fun, fun, fun! The following track from Soda Stereo is a head-nodder too. Badass guitars and immaculate vibes. The Kino song sounds like the Strokes if they were Russian (or perhaps the Strokes sound like the Americanized Kino) and is definitely right up my alley. Saved that s--- immediately. Kino is followed up by a song from The Isley Brothers. Never really listened to them but maybe I should because this track was immensely catchy and vibrant. Vocals match the lively music (inject that bass into my veins and let me O.D.). Huge props for finding room for A Tear For Eddie; this track has always been a huge personal favorite of mine, a true gem and masterpiece of instrumental music. Those guitars are so exceptionally spacey. I love it. Good transition into a classic Jeff Buckley track. d--- that man could sing! Gotta get Grace on vinyl already. Yolanda is super great and catchy as well. This might be a weird description but the song is Tarantino-coded lol, belongs on a soundtrack of one of his films. The Outkast track is insanely good. I’ve always been a huge fan of Outkast and, in my opinion, this is one of the best beats in their discography. Debra by Beck is such a funny, witty song. This one had me grinning throughout and I pretty much paid zero attention to the stunning composition happening in the background. Will definitely check out some of Beck’s albums. Debra was followed by a Classic R.E.M. song. Not much to say here, the track is amazing. When I saw Torn Curtain was on here I took a deep breath, removed it from my playlist, and placed 37% reciprocal tariffs on this Yeez b------. Jokes aside, I absolutely adore this track and the album it comes from. Masterpiece of art-rock that I’m glad is getting some exposure in this club. The mixtape’s final track is a gorgeous instrumental composition by Badalamenti. This man’s work on the Twin Peaks soundtrack is absolutely legendary and a part of what made the show stick with me so much. Great closer to an excellent mixtape. Thanks for the tape, man! I really loved listening to this and finding music I never even came close to discovering. I’ll not be an a--- and deduct points because a single song is taking me a while to appreciate. 10/10 @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau
Apr 7, 2025 at 12:22 PM I'm glad you enjoyed it!!! I feel that I probably could've picked a Stooges track that wasn't as meandering, but I was bumping Funhouse on repeat when I was crafting the tape, so I felt like I just had to add it. Since you liked El borrego, I'd recommend their album Re, it's probably the best latin alt-rock record ever. Also, Soda Stereo made a shoegaze record, which is wild. As for the 37% tariff....
Apr 7, 2025 at 3:51 PM Yeez review possibly tonight, probably tmrw. Then I go hard in the paint on the Justin mixtape
