If you can’t explain your issues with something then you probably shouldn’t be critiquing it as if you are some sort of expert who is always right no matter what. Nope! This season is going to flop even harder because the majority of the audience does not give a s--- about Abby’s backstory and Neil left so the game creator isn’t even involved anymore. People were worried about season 3 flopping because of Abby’s backstory before season 2 even came out. If you think the quality is gonna go up now that Neil is gone you are delusional. Hope this helps! You just have a crush on Kaitlyn Dever, that’s the only reason you think any of this lmao

Jul 3, 2025 HBO f----- up by not changing the season 2 storyline. Whether it was Druckmann or whoever, this isn't the type of show where you k--- off the main character. It's not GOT. I know the game pt 2 is more critically acclaimed, but as a show they had to know it wasn't going to work. The first game was perfect for TV and what they added to it (much better story imo as well), like the Frank and Bill episode only made it better. Them splitting the season up between the Abby and Ellie story like the game was a really weird move. Not sure if they're scrapping that idea and Druckmann got pissy about it, or he's really just stepping away to actually focus on the games

Jul 3, 2025 Honestly they probably should’ve just had Ellie’s and Abby’s stories play out at the same time instead of doing them in separate seasons. They already lost a lot of viewers, but now they’re gonna lose a ton more. I imagine the way a lot of casual viewers watching the show see it is “Abby just killed off a character I loved. Why would I care to tune into a season all about her?” Even though Kaitlyn Dever is a good actress, I don’t think that’s going to save it. They’ve already shot themselves in the foot

Jul 3, 2025 YES. This is exactly what I said when the season started. I was like, there's no way they will split up the seasons like the game. They will definitely combine them. It worked great for the game but you can't do that for a show, especially after an emotional episode like 2 where you take out the main character. I mean I'm still going to watch it regardless since I played the games to see where they go with it, but they really dropped the ball

Jul 16, 2025 at 6:14 PM Even if we do get TLOU3, I wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t get that s--- until the 2030s at this point. That leaves 2027 for season 3 and 2029 for a potential season 4 based on TLOU2’s Santa Barbara section. But like I’ve been saying and ViewerAnon said, Santa Barbara shouldn’t be stretched out for a whole season. Just make season 3 a long season, it’s okay to have a season that’s longer than 6-7 episodes. I could also see them just trying to milk it for another season like Netflix milked Squid Game for another season by just splitting season 2 into 2 seasons. Maybe HBO will be different, I don’t know.
