Aug 28, 2025 at 8:46 AM Dre takes notoriously too long on original beats. We will be here till 2050 waiting for that s---.
Aug 28, 2025 at 8:53 AM The beats everyone wants are already done and have been done for over a decade.
Aug 28, 2025 at 10:42 AM He did what you said for Hailies Song, but had to rework the entire beat. Maybe sometimes they just can’t be bothered with the work it takes.
Aug 28, 2025 at 11:25 AM I can't hear it so I just matched the beats up and there's like a 12 ms discrepancy which at least to my ear is within the margin of error. That's not even close to the Black Cotton slip-up you caught before which needed fairly drastic adjusting to fix.
Aug 28, 2025 at 11:38 AM “My private life” should come in right as “pistollll” ends. Literally at 3:03
Aug 28, 2025 at 11:58 AM By "off beat" I figured you meant out of sync with the actual rhythm of the kick and snare. The reason the verse comes in a little later is because with that placement the snare picks up again in the same place as in the original beat (right after "try suicide tonight"). I could've edited that part of the beat (the Rap Superstar intro) so that the snare came in earlier but to shirk the extra effort I just used the "Kim, kim!!!" adlib from d--- to fill in the gap instead. Sounds fine to me, though I didn't bother to check if the earlier placement you're suggesting would have chimed better over the instrumental, since if it did that would've meant more work.
Aug 28, 2025 at 1:40 PM The correct overall instrumental placement is more important than this relatively small detail though. So I'm glad you mentioned this.
Aug 28, 2025 at 1:43 PM By the time the second “Kim” adlib comes in he should roughly already be on the word “springer”
Aug 28, 2025 at 2:54 PM All right 3rd verse fits now. Definitely worth going back to fix. This beat has an oomph to it that was lacking in the original. But I also like the more relaxed vibe of the original, plus the hook which doesn't fit in the remix. I reckon I'll be regularly alternating between both for the next month at least.
