390. Chance the Rapper - Acid Rap (2013) [August 25th, 2025]

Getting into Hip-Hop as a zoomer was strange man. I already liked artists like Em and Tyler, but the 2020 quarantine led me too check lots of classic albums/mixtapes. The weird part came in regard to mixtapes. Lots of people say that the mixtape era was dead by then, but I was downloading countless mixtapes off of DatPiff (RIP) and MixtapeMonkey for that entire summer. And one of the crown jewels of that era has to be Chance the Rapper's magnum opus Acid Rap.

"Good a--- Intro" is such a good intro man, it's so FUN. The switchup between "Pusha Man" and "Paranoia" is great, and I firmly believe that "Cocoa Butter Kisses" is one of the best Hip-Hop songs of the 2010's. There are some classic bops on here like "Favorite Song", "Juice" & "Na Na". The only song that I've never really fallen in love with is "Chain Smoker", but it's still decent.

Acid Rap is a very unique album in my mind, and honestly, I don't think that any Chance project comes near it. It's just a (drumroll please) Good a--- Album

Don't have much to say about this one. It's decent. "Bullet Klub" was awesome tho

392. JPEGMAFIA x Danny Brown (2023) [August 27th, 2025]

I'm gonna be fully honest, I thought that I had logged this already, But apparently, I didn't. So here we go. I was already a big Danny fan prior to the release of SCARING THE HOES, but this is the project that fully turned me onto Peggy like I am today. And, I still think that it's amazing.

"Lean Beef Patty" (It's named after the influencer, right?) is a great fast paced intro with lyrics like:
The kind that make rap n----s pissed, you know it
I put a thumb in my b----, that p---- gettin' beat up like Gibbs, she know it
These n----s be textin' with kids
It doesn't get stranger than this, that's ho s---
f--- a bar, I don't f--- with you n----s like I'm Hulk Hogan (wait)

"Steppa Pig", "SCARING THE HOES", "Garbage Pail Kids", and "Fentanyl Tester" are pure, raw, virgin fun man. "Burfict!" is the most terminally online wrestling anthem that I've ever heard, and it's GREATTTTT. "Shut Yo b---- a--- Up / Muddy Waters" is one of the most best two/parters in recent memory, and "Orange Juice Jones" is so smooth. "Kingdom Hearts Key" is great, even if it is a bit overrated. My favorite song is "God Loves You", with a great gospel sample, and Danny rapping about f---ing chicks with biblical references. Dope!. "Run the Jewels" is fast, but good as well, and "Jack Harlow Combo Meal" is really funny. I have to admit that I've never been too big on "HOE (Heaven on Earth)", but it's okay, and "Where Ya Get Ya Coke From?" is a great outro.

SCARING THE HOES is a great time, and Peggy......

394. Various Artists - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) [August 28th, 2025]

The soundtrack for The Rocky Horror Picture Show shares the same strengths and weaknesses that permeated the Phantom of the Paradise soundtrack that I covered back in June. As someone who loved the movie, I had an absolute blast listening to this album. But would I still love it if I had no knowledge of the movie? I'm not sure. But hey, "The Time Warp" is still one of the catchiest earworms I've had in recent memory

395. Rush - Moving Pictures (1981) [September 1st, 2025]

I hate these short reviews man (there's gonna be a big change to these soon). Long story short, Moving Pictures is pretty good. "Tom Sawyer" is obviously the big standout, but it was a really good time overall.

???. Eminem - Straight From the Lab (2003) [August 30th]

Forgot to log this one on Saturday, but due to the fact that this is essentially a leak compilation, I'm awarding it the first "???" classification, because I have no idea if this counts as a normal album or not. Anyway, this forums has had quite the history with the Straight from the Lab series, huh? Whether it be Koolo making Straight from the Vault, and Straight from the Lab 2, or the forum being framed for the release of Straight from the Lab 3, I find it funny that the first installment is the only one that isn't tied to the RB-SL-S80 community we all have.

I've publicly declared my love for 2003 era Em in the past, so having 7 songs from this era is a treat. The Alchemist produced "Monkey See Monkey Do" is one of Em's most underrated tracks ever, with a simple but sick beat, and Em sounding as hungry as ever. "We As Americans" and "Love You More" are incredible, and as much as I love this leak, it's a shame that they got taken off of Encore because of it. "Canibitch" has always seemed pretty strange to me though. Like, it isn't nearly as vitriolic like other 2002-3 era disses like "Bump Heads" or "Hail Mary", so I'm not sure where this would've released. Still a very fun track though! "Bully" is very cool as well, and it would've killed it on Encore. "Come On In" is good, even if it is arguably the weakest song on here. This version of "Doe Rae Me" is arguably better than the Invasion version, and it's a classic as always. Granted, I do think that it gets the short end of the stick in the "best Em diss" discussion since he only does the hook, but it's still great. Also, #ReleasetheBizarreverse.

Straight form the Lab is a great little compilation of leaks from the best year from one one the best rappers of all time, so there's no surprise that it's great.

396. Bad Meets Evil - h---: The Sequel (2011) [September 2nd, 2025]

Y'know, I was VERY mixed on this EP the first few times I listened to it. Like many people, I love the late 90's/early 2000's BME tracks, so I was bound to be interested. (sidenote: the fact that we didn't get a collab album during this time. I would gladly give up Devil's Night for a BME album). But the issue is the era that it was released in. I've said that Recovery is a guilty pleasure in the past, but a 2010-ish BME album had the potential to be VERY bad. Thankfully, that was not the case (for the most part).

"Welcome 2 h---" is a great intro, showing that BME is back. "Fast Lane" is a fun track from both MC's, and I never thought I'd say this, but "The Reunion" is probably the best misogynistic track ever. "Above the Law" and "A Kiss" are decent, but nothing special. I REALLY like "I'm On Everything" though, even if Em's first verse is kinda wack. "Loud Noises" is also a really cool outro, with the Slaughterhouse members being good additions. Then we have the 2 "bad" songs. I know I clown on Em a lot, but "Lighters" has to be one of the worst songs in his discog. It's so f---ing lame that it makes Revival garbage "Nowhere Fast" look like "Beautiful". "Take From Me" isn't necessarily a bad song, but I find millionaire Em complaining about leaks to be really lame. The bonus track "Living Proof" is dope tho.

Aside from 2 songs, h---:the Sequel is pretty cool. Is it a bit of a letdown? Yeah....and the fact that we haven't gotten a proper album is pretty s-----y, but it's still cool.

397. D12 - D12 World (2004) [September 2nd, 2025]

That cover is funny, and not in a good way lmao

Y'know how I praised the h--- out of Devil's Night last week? That is...not the case here. D12 World is a bad album for the most part. When listening to DN, I'm pretty sure everyone agreed with the statement, "Eminem outshines these guys so much, it's unfair". And that problem gets even worse on D12 World, because there are countless songs and skits about "People only know us because of Eminem!", and it gets old man.

I think the album is downright boring until the classic "My Band", which is pretty fun, even if it created one of the most r/Eminem-ish running jokes in the Em community. "6 In the Morning" was pretty cool on Straight from the Lab, but it's an absolute highlight here. "How Come" has an interesting concept, and "Get My Gun" is a lot of fun. "D12 World" has a sick beat courtesy of Kanye West, and the members do pretty d--- good. "40 Oz" is pretty fun too (apparently it's in the Scarface video game for some reason). "American Psycho II" is SICK though, and it's a d--- good sequel."Bugz 97" and "Good Die Young" serve to make a pretty emotional closer.

After listening to this album, the concept of a "D12 World" absolutely laughable.
